hey all,
Was cleaning/lubing my pm9 the other day and i noticed that when i squeeze the trigger slowly it makes a very slight creeking sound right before the trigger breaks. anyone else have this issue? i lubed it a little more in the trigger bar area but still notice it. It may have done this its entire life but i just now noticed it. even if i over lube all the inerts the sound is still there. i havent shot it since i noticed it.

remove the grip on the right side and watch the interaction of the spring that wraps under the trigger bar. Sometimes that spring can get out of position ... by watching the action as you pull the trigger, and listening for the 'creek' you will see if that is the issue.

Other than that, make sure you put a little grease in where the trigger bar interacts with the cocking cam.

thanks for the reply, i'll take a look at that spring that wraps the trigger bar, my pm9 has no grips to remove, other than that peice held in with the small torx screw on the top right of the plastic frame. hopefully i can see that springs placement with the slide removed.

inspected the inerts and everything looks in place, i relubricated the trigger bar/cam area with white grease and it solved the noise problem, i was only using remoil previously and it helped a little but the sound was still present, i didnt use much white grease but it def. did the trick. the creek was very faint to begin with(most probably wouldnt notice). i was just overly concerned about my carry piece.

I would imagine that shooting it alot would wear it in so that it doesn't do that anymore.

It will soon dissappear as more rounds get through the gun and things smooth out even better. There is nothing wrong with the gun though. The greasething where u put it is dead on to.

That creeking noise is coming from the trigger return spring. A small drop of oil on the coil of the spring might help. It in no way affects the performance of the gun. You'll never hear it in a fire fight.

yeah my pm9 is def. still almost new, i have only put around 225 rounds through it which is just past break-in, i carry it often, it was linty and dry and although i normally just use remoil it seems the white grease being thicker worked better. i guess i better shoot it more often.

yeah ... I wasn't thinking PM9 about the grip panel ... but you got the point. I'm like you in that I want the thing to feel and act perfect ... and I'll tear it down to find every mechanical tweak I can. The side benefit is that you learn so much about the mechanics of your weapon that it becomes very second nature.

I recently had a new T9 with a 'click' in the start of the trigger pull. It took me a while to find it, but eventually it came down to that same interaction between the cocking cam and the trigger bar. A couple swipes on the end of the bar with a needle file and the thing pulls like it has ball bearings now.

great job in problem solving.

on that trigger b ar with the side panel off the gun or even looking down from the top of the grip there is a curly cue spring that sits on the bottom of the trigger bar. The bar slides on that spring when the trigeris pulled. Often there is a slight ruffnesws on that bar where that spring rides and a dab of grease right on that area will smooth itself out with some range time..

The only noise my trigger makes is ...BANG...
