Hey guys, been lurking for a while now but I finally made my Kahr purchase. I put down a deposit on a new K9 Elite today. Hopefully I will not have to wait too long for it.
Seems like a good forum with a lot of good information. I am currently active on XDtalk and a local (North Carolina) shooting forum but I look forward to being active on this site as well.

Thanks for the welcome people! I will definitely post pictures/range report when I bring it home. I plan on replacing the stock grips with wood grips asap. Actually, now that I think about it... I probably could have ordered it that way, right? Oh well, backup grips are nice to have.

Thanks! I just found the proper prepping thread and was reading through it. I am aware of the wood grip issue (read it somewhere) and I was wondering if anyone has developed a fix for it. I was actually thinking a little Teflon tape on the screw threads would be the first thing I tried. Maybe help get it a little more snug but still keeping the threads non-binding and smooth? I actually like the feel of the stock grips, I just like the look of the wood. Shallow, I know.

The stock grips are great ... but the wood grips a FABULOUS!

ok ... maybe just my opinion but they fit my hands (T9, T40) great and feel Oh so "just right".

u need to be able to remove the grips pretty easy for a good lower section cleaning, u want the grips off the guns, formost all cledaners will effect the finish on the wood. Some have found a small O ring to go over the screw but I have no idea where to tell u to look for that. try ur gun out first with the wood grips with the screwsjust tight qand see if tey hold OK, u might just be Ok and have to do nothing..

The K9 Elite is my favorite of all the Kahrs I've handled.... I guess that explains why I've been carrying one for going on 4+ years now. It's a fantastic shooter, and fits my hand like a glove. :)

Congrats on your purchase!.... Shoot the hell out of your new K9 and enjoy falling in Love with her. :D

I do think also they are as nice a looking gun as the 1911's. They have to rank up there at the top somewhere.

No waiting period in NC. Just present my CHP and take my gun home. I just have to wait for it to arrive, they did not have one in stock.

This^ I will get a 1911 someday but I wanted the Kahr first.

$720 for the Elite. I think it was a fair price. My gun store always gets me a fair deal, good people.

Waiting for a new gun to come in is the pits. In the meantime, just for kicks, here's a pic of my newest K9. It isn't an Elite model, in fact it's a "B" marked gun, (blemished), but it does have a very nice factory installed elite trigger and night sights. The previous owner even threw in the C.T. grips... all for a real decent price. Your going to love your new gun. It's a real eye pleaser and fun to shoot.

Nice, how do you like the CT grips? I have been considering them, never tried them though.

I am planning on installing Trijicon sights right away, in fact I should have just ordered them initially but I do not want to delay the process at this point.

I like them. They feel pretty close to the original grips. The fit and quality is excellent. The only downfall is that the laser is covered by your trigger finger when at the ready position, (finger off the trigger). They have an On/Off switch.
