I participated in a friendly contest on the Rimfire Central Ruger .22 forum. It was interesting to compare how I was shooting with other people that owned the same firearm. If the idea sticks I can "borrow" the rules they were using on rimfirecentral.com

Was thinking maybe doing a 10 and 15 yard or so competition. In the meantime I'll get things started with a 7 yard 5 shot group from the other day, was my second time at the range with it and am loving it more and more after every shot!

That one is going to be very hard to beat! ;) No wonder you like it more every day. Great shooting!

You win...

I've shot in postal matches, with the difference being you only have one official target to shoot, not pick your best out of a bazillion tries:rolleyes:

I've had many one shot groups like that.

Incredible, I can't compete.

If I'm allowed to shoot my Dan Wesson CBOB, I could come in second....maybe. Nice job.

You shouldn't have posted that picture so soon. Nobody's going to compete with that. You win.

I posted a 5 shot group from 8 paces on here a few weeks ago. It was about 3 times that size or bigger.

Thank you for the positive feedback everyone! The target was a $2.75 18 pack from wallmart, probably 6" X 6" or so. I usually make my own but havent got around to it lately. The target on the bottom I purchased at the range, its about a 3.5" tall bullseye

Hahahaha you got me there! :D I shot 100 rounds the other day because I somehow left my ruger 22/45 at my house, thought i had it in my trunk. Needed to blow off some steam too so 100 rounds felt good. Seemed like my average group would have 4 shots in the same hole and one or two outside if i was taking my time. If i was shooting around 1 shot every 2 seconds i was usually getting them all on the bulls but would have some on the edges, didn't "rapid" fire very much though.

Not a very good picture because I believe this is 15 or 20 rounds, 5 or so were from 40ft and the others were against the wall, guessing about 47 or so feet. The hole not circled is from a flyer when I was trying to shoot kind of rapidly, it was interesting too because I drew a target below the bulls eye on there and tried shooting at that. Seemed like the big orange target helped me alot because my group was significantly more spread out with my drawn on target.

I can shoot better than that, all day long.

Every target would have powder burns though:o

These are at self defense distance of 15 feet, rapid fire. A few shots are one handed, strong side.

Shoot S&B in the Sig .380 Auto and Federal HST 124 gr in the Nano

As my girlfriend says, "Not real good but fast!"

5 shots at 5-yards, the very first five shots EVER fired thru this gun.

50 shots at 5-yards, the entire second box of ammo ever fired thru this cun. Coulda been smaller but I shot out my point of aim pretty quick and the group opened up because I was aiming at a big hole.

I might be able to match it with my 1911, but not with my CM9. Of course, the holes would be a little bigger, but they would all touch. Excellent shooting.

I had a P9 but sold it 2 years ago, got this recently. I dry fired over 500 times first before actually firing a shot thru this new gun. Kahr triggers are very easy for me to shoot well. A little too long of a reset but very smooth. I don't currently own any revolvers but I have in the past. I can shoot well with just about any trigger, right hand or left hand. Align the sights, pull the trigger directly to the rear, and do both at the same time. Those are the 3 rules of marksmanship.

Looks like we have a contender for first place here! The 3 rule system rocks! :D

Pulling the trigger when the sights are not aligned with the target... Is the #1 reason for inaccuracy. Profound, eh?

That #3 rule is hard to master....... #1 & #2 seem easy enough.

Nice shooting, Path4. Judging from the partial photo of your thumb you appear to be a young man. I recall when I could shoot like that...it was about 40 years ago. :D
