View Full Version : Trigger Finger Firing Issue on CM9 + other mag issue

So, recently I've had this weird issue where when I shoot my CM9, isosceles stance thumbs forward grip, the bottom of the trigger guard seems to be slamming into my trigger finger, bruising it pretty uncomfortably. Shooting it was literally painful for my trigger finger! This had never happened before, when I was using more of a weaver like stance with thumbs not completely forward. Is it my grip that is causing this to happen? I shot it one handed with both hands and it didn't hurt my trigger finger then.
Anyone else run into this bizzare problem? Anyone have any solutions or ideas what could be wrong?
Thanks so much to everyone here!
P.S. Also, something I forgot, my 7rd extended mag fails to feed after the first shot, I think the feed lips are screwed up. What do I do to get the mag replaced/fixed?

send the magazine back and ask for a flush fit 6 rd mag and not fool with it. call kahr first. they have done this for many. If ur stance is causing it, then u need to change ur stance and or modify slightly ur grip. should be easy to do IMO. and u stated "recently" so something has changed in ur grip style, certainly the gun ha snot changed.

It seems that people worry a lot about grips and stances to me. I have no idea what a Weaver or isosceles stance is. I just use what feels natural to me and it seems to work as long as I keep my fingers away from the moving parts.

weaver played on gunsmoke, I think u have to shoot with a stiff leg in the weaver stance.

When you shoot from the Isosceles stance feet square to the target arms fully extended the pistol has a tendency to roll more in your hand. Try bending your elbows slightly and allow them to absorb some of the recoil.

Also, when you bend your elbows, use your pectoral muscles to squeeze the sides of the pistol like you are pressing the palms of your hands together. That will help mitigate recoil as well.

The 7 round mags suck. Lots of us have had problems getting them to feed. Send it back and get another 6er.

I find it much easier to shoot well in a more relaxed position. Tension causes fatigue and that doesn't help scores. You want a firm grip with the middle two fingers of your strong hand to prevent what's called milking the trigger. If you are relaxed it's far easier to shoot and move.

I believe the Weaver stance refers to the "Bladed" position with one foot forward of the other with the body at a slight angle, depending on wether you're righty or lefty. I seem to remember a story about a competitive shooter (maybe a cop) in the late 50s or early 60s named Weaver from Kalifornia, who won alot with it, causing many to imitate him. We all probably use it at some point.
