I just bought a CM9 brand new to compliment my new CHL. First trip to the range was disappointing, with SEVERAL Malfunctions of various types in the first 200 rounds. I've spoken to Kahr and they want it back for a recheck, so I still have hope. I put a talon grip on it before ever firing it, and I love the feel of it, and the way the gun fits my hand. It was a pleasure to shoot, just hope Kahr can get it cycling properly.
On a separate note, does anyone other than crimson trace make a more affordable laser sight? Also, not into the SS slide. Any tips on blackening or coating the slide?

Sorry you're having troubles, but I assure you Kahr CS will work hard to get it right. Did you follow the preparatory steps recommended on this forum before your range session? -
Proper prep of a new kahr (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521)

There doesn't seem to be anything as good as the CT laser. A couple of other have the on switch up on the laser, not accessible on the grip. If you watch the for sale adds on here, you can probably pick up a CT for about $150.
Edit: Here is one for $130 - http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=135048#post135048
Here is what Thunder71 did for his PM9 slide:

What kind of malfunctions? There is about 4 of us who purchased a new cm9 within the last month that have had to send it back for the slide jamming to the rear after firing.

To JFootin: thanks for the info. I am second guessing the idea of the laser. I want some flexibility as to why a shot was placed the way it was if I'm ever in front of a jury. With the laser, I fear some snaky civil lawyer would turn it around on me. I LOVE what thunder71 did with the slide.. Can that be done with one of the home DIY kits, if not, what's the cost to have it done. Keep in mind I bought a CM over a PM for cost reasons. I did read and follow Kahr instructions, and after speaking to them, there were satisfied that I did my part.
To Kabookie: Most common was reloading the spent brass, no ejection at all. I stopped counting that instance after about 10 occurrences. Also 2 or 3 times, when I cycled the slide to clear the spent casing, a live round would eject as well. Second most common was not feeding (shoving the nose of the round down) the first round after inserting a new mag. This happened 3 or 4 times. And last, and most alarming. The spent casing would partial eject, with the casing left parallel to the slide and half in the camber and half out, on top of the slide. When this happened the next round would also barely begin to feed. What concerned me about this, is that I was unable to cycle the slide to clear it. I had to dry fire, before the slide would move, not being sure if the partially loaded round was high enough for the pin to hit it. This was a 2 or 3 time thing.

I tried using the gel SS blackener and didn't have good results at all. It was mottled and crappy looking - even though I followed all the instructions and prepped very carefully. If you want to try the DIY, I strongly recommend the fully-liquid dip over the gel.

I ended up having the slide Cerakoted in black graphite and I love the way it looks now.

What's the cost on that?
Also, anyone know if the Clip Draw will fit on these?

Welcome to KahrTalk.
Sorry to read about the issues with your new Kahr. I had a few when my PM9 was new but was able to work them out without the gun being shipped back to Kahr for repairs.
