If they don't replace the frame the gun should come directly back to you, no FFL in the middle.

The average turn around time I'm told and most reports confirm is 10 days to 2 weeks, sometimes much less of course and sometimes longer depending on the issue. If it needs a major part, they may have to wait for one.

It's horrible even for a 2 day turn around but they do try to get em back quickly.

Mine went back 3 times. First time was 5 days but they didn't repair the right problem instead they replaced an unnecessary part. Second time 2 weeks, fixed original problem but messed up the trigger pivot pin. They broke it off in the frame and sent it back that way. I sent them a picture of the pin and they said send it back. Third time got it back in 9 days everything right this time. Kahr cs is great as far as taking the gun back under warranty and will make the gun right at their expense. All 3 times it was picked up from my home and brought back to my home. You can't do better than that so have no fear and look forward to when you get your gun back all fixed up. Just like getting a new gun all over.

Can I drop it of to fedex or do they have to pick it up from the residence?

I sent my 3 kel teks back a total of 17 times and neveronce did anyone ever get back tome quicker than 4 weeks. most of the time is was 8 weeks. They had my 3 kel teks actually in their repair shop more than I ever owned them at home. Kahrs service is normally faster thana speeding bullet out of a slow moving 45. U notice u never hear a bang out of a 45, just alot of grunting and that is the 45 bullet trying like hell to get out of the barrel. If u had a 9mm u sure wouldhear the bang thing. Just sayin. I amnot prejudice or anything!!!

Yep! I just chucked mine into the FedEx box set in the concrete in front of our local post office. Make note of the tracking number and you will see it delivered the following morning to Kahr.

Kahr probably told you to put the gun in the original plastic box along with a letter describing the problem. That will ensure that the gun smith sees a description of your problem and is virtually the only communication for that purpose.

Best of luck!

I know that is is not a problem when they send you a prepaid shipping label. But if you have a postal scale to weigh the package and work up and print a label on your computer, can you get home pickup?

:rolleyes:I spoke to Ian and he told me to ship it in a sturdy box ,I did! He didn't mention the Kahr plastic box. I cushioned my baby nicely and taped a Loveletter for the Gunsmith to it.

What happen if a parcel is lost, is there any insurance included with Kahrs overnight labels?

I had to send myCW40 back for repair. Ian sent a label, I took the package to Fed Ex and within two weeks I had a new CW40. They had to replace the CW 40 so it was sent back to my LGS. I got lucky, he did not charge me the transfer fee because he sold me the gun in the first place. My only issue was the instructions said to send the gun and mag in with a note about the problem. They sent back the new gun with no mag. I emailed Ian and he sent a replacement mag right away.

Best to take it in a drop it off in person to a FedEx and ask for a receipt, that way you are covered on your end.

Had to send mine in recently and wait time was about 3 weeks. Mine seems to be temperamental (FTE) Hornady ammo and was told they preform best w/ US brand ammo so will try soon and hope for the best.

I sent my K40 in to fix an extractor problem and got it back in 7 days. I'm very pleased with the customer service at Kahr. +1 to dropping it off in person to a person and getting a reciept.
