It depeneded with mu gun. Ist time 8 days but it was not fixed. 2nd time it was 2 weeks, this time problem was fixed but the broke the trigger pivot off below the frame. Sent a picture to them and they said they would have it picked up again. 3rd time was 10 days all fixed-up this time. I'm happy with it now.

When you spoke to cs how long did they tell you? Rich originally told me it could be as long as 5 weeks. You can send an email when you want to them to check on the status. I did not want to rush them because I wanted it done right. I was insistant on knowing when the day the gun was shipped back so I could be home to sign for it.

Time is a relative thing. It always seems longer when the relatives are over.

Well it could be a really, really long time according to some people on this forum due to the thousands and thousands of guns that are in for warranty service.
sarcasm off/

Hope it comes back to you soon. :)

How long is too long for you? 3 weeks? 5 weeks? Why does it take that long? That's usually a sign they have a limited number of staff to dedicate to fixing their defective products or they're swamped.

Yeah now some of you on here are like,

Kahr makes billions and billions of handguns. That makes you a statisical anamoly. Hell, it was probably you're own fault too that the gun didn't work. You didn't hold it right, not enough oil, too much oil, you didn't rack 6000 times before you fired, used crappy ammo, maybe you didn't howl at the moon or turn counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere before you shot it.

Yeah, we'll get our guns back some day but weeks is a little dissapointing form a place that's supposed to be first class.

I'm honestly beginning to think that no matter what happens, or how quick or how well Kahr manages your issues that you're always going to be upset about your gun.

It's probably best if you peddle it when it comes back and move on to another brand. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Good luck with your next gun.

My new PM9 Black P9094N was picked up on Friday 2/24 from my LGS to have a scratch in the black finish "repaired". Doug promised a one to two day turnaround time. Should arrive on Monday 2/27 at the mothership. Hoping to have it back by Thursday or Friday of this week.

I thought it would be easier to have a defect in the finish repaired prior to my taking possession of the handgun. Kahr has been very responsive to a single email I sent last Saturday. Very happy so far.

I am anxious already :)

I'm waiting for S&W to just replace the cylinder in my 638. Been with them for two weeks so far. Did I want to send it in? No. Any amount of time spent having to return a new gun and wait is too much.

Yeah, we'll get our guns back some day but weeks is a little dissapointing form a place that's supposed to be first class.

So is S&W.

If Kahr doesn't fix the gun properly or it continues to experience more problems I will peddle the gun back to Kahr. That is unless you'd be willing to fork over full price for my gun. Some how I doubt any of you would be willing to jump on that. Lots of hot air around here.

Kahrs have a reputation of either working like a well oiled machine or like crap. And those crap guns seem to be problem childs no matter what kahr does to fix them. So I'll give kahr once with this gun and if doesnt get fixed then they give give me a brand new replacement. No need to accept a lemon.

All of that remains to be seen. What we're talking about here is how long should it take? 3-4 days? Weeks? Months? What would YOU except for a new gun returned on warranty? The fact that it takes weeks is both disappointing and very telling.

u really outta apeddle it kabookie, ur down on kahr, u see only the negatvies in everything like they are the only gun maker toever have issues. I understand ur feeling but is this the first product of anything that you ahve ever bopught that has not worke dout perfec tform the git go???If so then all the more reason to peddle it and move on to a good gun of your other choices out there, If this is not ur first rodeo with a product, then take a deep breath and give the system a chance to work. That is what warranty service is for,, that is what 100K 5 year car warranty is for, they knw ur gonna have some issues pop up, no way to get around it, they are tryng to ease the pain as much as possable, not mucvh different in guns.

There is no shame in peddling a gun you are unhappy with, but IMO ur kinda off the deep end with this kahr thing. A good reason why many guns today are traded in to. PEOLE JUST DID NOT LIKE THE GUN.

Ur last sentence to me kinda tell is all about ur attitude...

there is not one gun maker today who has made billions of handguns, and that included glock (noe to hve made even one billion), kahr would be hard pressed to have made a million of all models combined. ur shooting out ur ass now :behindsofa:

u now sould like a politician !!!

Update: arrived at their facility 2/13. Emailed jay and today he wrote back that the gunsmiths said it will "likely" be repaired next week....... i giggle at the word likely.... oh well, i'm not too bitter yet, although when i purchased this 4 weeks ago i hoped to carry it right away but i'm hoping this thing shoot flawless when i get it back.

Kabookie, you're getting too worked up. I understand where you're coming from, i'm just as frustrated, but we both did our research before buying this gun (i'm assuming) and we knew there were problems, but we still took the risk. I thought Kahr was a premium brand for some reason ( and i'm not knocking them) but wouldn't you guys categorize them more along with taurus than sig sauer?

Rich at Kahr told me yesterday 2/27/12 that it would be three weeks before I would get my CM9 back. I am ok with that if it is fixed. I imagine there are other gun makers having problem's also, I have not run into one in 40 years of previous gun purchases. Just saying.

Well, Kahr is a much smaller and newer company than Taurus or Sig Sauer. They are more of a specialty maker with a fairly limited line of products. Their specialty is very thin, small, light guns primarily, with patented features such as:

the offset feed ramp which results in a really low bore axis for reduced felt recoil and muzzle flip,
the incredibly smooth, long, light double action trigger pull that allows the guns to be carried loaded with no external safety.

Do they, especially the smaller ones, require more attention from their owner than a Glock? Yes. But when Glock starts making a pistol in this size/weight/thinness/tightness range, let's see if you can drag it through mud puddles and get it to keep on going bang without more attention than a full sized Glock would need.

These items are nice but if you have major problems with the gun what good is it? I would think that QC would catch a major prob like mine but that is just me. Old and cranky maybe. :)
