CM/PM Finishes

I am getting ready to order either a CM9 or PM9. I have thought over and over the various options and differences. I tend to prefer the black finish of the PM9 and might pay the extra money for that and the minor differences but I am curious how both finishes hold up over time. I tend to think the black finishes will tend to look worse with use and wear over time. What does everyone think? I may opt for the matte stainless as save the $.

remember the black finish is just that a finish, It is extremely durable, It will take a kvery long tme to wear the fijnish off of the dlc finish. The stainless finish has nothing to wear off. If u wat the balck dlc, buy it and forget about if's and whens. The PM9 is worht the differenceif ur after the dlc finish, or otherwise I would stay wit the cm9 as u can always send the slide off to get a damn good and durabe black chrome finish on it and still have a few bucks left in ur pocket. Function wise,k the are both the same.

I have just purchased a PM9 P9094N, and waiting on the paperwork to be approved (background check). I was able to see the PM9 that had been ordered for me, and noticed the slide was scratched, so while it may be durable, it will wear and can be scratched.

On a positive note, I contacted Kahr via email, and they were very much willing to repair the scratch, and are contacting the dealer to arrange for a return, promising a two day turnaround time. This will probably delay receipt of my PM9, but I have been waiting for close to two years to make this purchase, so a couple more days is fine with me.

I am very happy with the high level of service Kahr is willing to offer.

Make sure it's really a scratch before sending it off. The DLC finish is pretty tuff. It could be metal from another object that rubbed off onto the DLC finish. Try using a pencil eraser to remove it.

I have had mine since '08 and carried it everyday and it still looks brand new.
