In your P380 do you prefer Remington 88gr jhp or Remington 95gr fmj better. Any problems with either one. Not sure which to buy.

Both work fine in mine after 285 round break in.... both flawless when I have tried them.
As is AE, Fed red box, PMC and several SD brands...

I had earlier on issues in my P380 with 102 grain GS hp ammo, so I just never went back totem again. Many here have used them with no issues, so go figure. cesanda 285 good rounds out of the P380 is outstanding. I really need to ge tout and do that with my P380 again to gain my confidence back with it.

Is the 95gr more snappy than the 88gr. Are about the same.

Correction there... 285 BREAK IN... cause at round 285 was the LAST issue...
Since then....
546 issue free rounds of many makes and models... !!!

The Rem 95 gr fmj runs great in mine. Haven't used the 88 gr but everything else I've tried worked except the flat nose WWB.

Interesting that you note that on the WWB....
I kinda suspected that the flat nose was hitting the slide stop and quite using them as well on mine....
Not sure if they were the problem or not but now only run round FMJ ...

Mine will feed the flat nose rounds except for the last 2 loaded in the mag (1st 2 rounds to be shot). As the mag spring pressure gets lighter it will allow the the flat nose rounds to compress the mag spring and make the bend up the ramp. I was able to use up my WWB flat nose ammo by loading 4 into the mag with 2 round nose on top. Just not worth the hassel so I stay away from them. They did operate the action fine though, they just don't like to make the sharp bend in the P380.

Remington UMC 95 grain FMJ? They weren't powerful enough to lock my slide back half of the time. Haven't tried the JHP.

I mix the 88 grain JHPs with the 95 grain Leadless Flat Points. First 3 solids and then the 4 JHPs. I'm still one the fence with the FMJ vs. HP in .380 debate so I'm keeping one leg on each side of the fence until I can test expansion of the 88 grain JHP. All Rem/UMC work well in my P380. Mine like UMC 95g fmj - and I use that and Fed red box for range ammo - never tried the Remington HP stuff. My "serious" ammo is CorBon 90 hp and Speer Gold Dot.
My guns HATE Winchester White box which is a shame because wally world sells it cheap. I think its the flat point making feed problems. Never tried Rem with a flat point.

How cheap? It's $19.50 for 50 at Walmart here. Cabelas has many brands cheaper than that.

Cesande, very interesting comment. My P380 does not like the flat nose. What other ammo do you recommend for range shooting?

Hey all, I have an update on Remington/UMC 380 ammo I'd like to share with you since I was talking this stuff up in an earlier post on this thread.
The 88 grain JHP ammo is fine for the range, but don't count on this to expand from the P380 short barrel. Not enough velocity to upset the bullet and cause expansion.
In the blog post below, I did a half-assed terminal test on the Remington/UMC Leadless flat point. The flat point is much smaller than the WWB flat nose, but this stuff has always tested quite fast for a 95 grain bullet. I was surprised to find the flat nose had created a permanent wound channel that didn't heal up after the bullet passed through.
In the blog post, I mention, and have a picture of, a wound channel from a 380 JHP that didn't expand. That was my latest test of the Remington 88 grain JHP load. It consistently fails to expand.
Based on the testing I've done and verification of how well the ammo runs in my specific P380, I really like the UMC Leadless as my FMJ carry round of choice.

I remember we discussed that at ElsiePea before the change, the 88's won't expand out of the LCP, but do out of my Bersa that I got because of your test results.

I do need to try them out of the Bersa before I just stick them into my range ammo. Maybe this fall.
