I did some trading and I didn't get another Kahr. I've had a few 22LR "plinkers" and have not been overly impressed with the selection of semi-auto's. I sold a Walther P-22 and got looking at a replacement. I did a little research and ended up with a Sig "classic" P229 in 22LR. It's basically it is the full size frame with Sig's rim-fire conversion kit. I found out they also offer a Center-fire conversion kit for the 22 models. I traded my Taurus PT99-AFD in on the center-fire conversion kit. The center-fire conversion kit has night sights, slide, barrel and spring/guide.

First impressions, the slide will not lock back on empty mag when set up for .22 cal. I love the Sig de-cocker. I liked the DA/SA trigger on my Taurus. It's great for first time shooters and really like the idea of 2 calibers in one gun. And last I hope I don't have to wait too long for the conversion kit, the gun took 3 months to come in.

congrats on the Sig! Yep, I love my P239 .40 cal. Unfortunately, no .22 cal conversion for the 239:(

Just my opinion, but I think that particular gun is a notch above Plinker status. ;)

I've been on the lookout for several years for a modestly priced CZ75 Cadet myself. Having gone through the current offering of .22s and found most of them wanting. The Sig is one I've yet to even see stocked in stores...that or I saw one and didn't know it. :o

Enjoy your new Sig.

From my experiance with the P229 you should be very happy. It is a very nice gun, it is a very nice and high quality plinker.
ENJOY!

I have SIG PRO 2022 very well made build like a :80:, and I bought it because got a good deal for it ($439 shipped). Unfortunely, the SIG line is cost prohibited to my rules of buying (not paying no more of $550 for new firearms). I am fan with limitation. Congrats, SIG are fine weapons.

Everybody needs a .22 for fun, cheap shooting.

I have a Ruger single six in SS. It's a very nice 22 and I got a killer deal from my Daughter's grandmother. It's just not as fun to shoot as the semi auto's. I've also had a Phoenix HP-22 and the Walther P22. The Phoenix was a cool little plinker, not very accurate and fairly ammo sensitive. The Walther had a pot metal slide and press in plastic sights that would not stay in place after the first time they were removed. It was also not very accurate and ammo sensitive. What I like about the sig is it has a machined slide, normal sights and is very interchangable in calibers. My old Taurus was a nice 9mm, just very big and heavy. I've had the Taurus for about 10 years, it was time to move it out to pasture and update with a new one. The 229 in 22 cal was just under $550 and the conversion kit is ~400. The conversion kit for 9mm comes with night sights. I thought it was a fair price considering the sale of the walther and the trade in on the Taurus.

I can't wait for it to warm up. The wind was blowing and it was cold up on the hill where the range is. I only put 20 rounds down range. Upper right is the first mag. A couple of fliers but not too bad. The lower left my hand was numb for the cold so I gave up till a warmer day. I think it's a keeper :D
