Having a problem ejecting live rounds by hand operation of the slide on my New CW40. Checked the guide rod and spring. They both look straight. It ejects spent brass fine. Have about 100 rounds fired thru it. It hangs up between the side of the slide and the top lip of the chamber on the barrel. Have tried Winchester White box, Federal Bulldog Home Defence, Hydro Shock and Remington Brass BJHP HD's. All do the same thing. Even got on Kahr and watched the breakdown and putting it back together to make sure I did it right. Still have the Problem. Never would of found this out if I had not been hanging out with a friend and tried ejecting a live round after showing him how it loads up. Don't carry it yet as I have not fully broke it in. But I know this ain't how it works. Have to use a hard rubber peice to pry out the live round. Not a good thing. Emailed Kahr tonight. Thought I would ask you experts who have owned Kahrs whats up and how to fix it.

just keep shooting it theres nothing wrong with it. just needs about another 150rds thru it. also try ejecting the live rd with a quick authoritive pull of the slide the rd will jump outta the gun.

Have you tried taking the live round out of the chamber with an empty mag inserted in the gun? Both of my mk's eject fine with or without the empty mag in so I don't have first hand experience with this. The extractor pulls the round out of the chamber then back to the ejector. I have read that with the mag in it acts as a guide for the round when coming back to hit the ejector then out. With the mag out sometimes the round can fall through the mag well. I believe there are some posts on this on the forum if you can search and find them. I'm sure things will work out for you. Hang in there (not like your eject problem) LOL. Good luck

ur gun is fine, u just need to rack that slide with gusto to get a live round out of that small opening. also the recoil springs hav enot yert taken their designed set so racking the slide might seem alittle hard but it will loosen up with morerounds. U need to give thegun 200 rounds like the manual states so tha tyou and the gun get used to each other. The gun goes bang and ejects every time so the issue ur relatingto is just something tha tyou have yet to get the hang of.

Mine did the same thing but seems to be getting better now that I have about 400 rounds through it. I've also noticed that bullets with a more narrow conical profile eject by hand racking the slide much easier than ones with a more square shape. FYI the Hornady Critical Defense eject really well.

I took the advice from Jocko. Put another 200 rounds thru it. It does take a lot of force with a fast snap to hand eject the live rounds. But it can be done. Also put a Houge Handall Jr. on it also. Much better for me to hold too.
I'm having the exact same issue. When attempting to unload my CW40 (155gr. Gold Dot), the round gets jammed in the ejection port. I am trying to attach a picture to show it.

Note how the bullet is jamed into the top of the barrel and the entire cartridge is thus jammed between the bottom of the slide and the top of the barrel.
I have well over 200 rounds through this gun and even when yanking the slide back with full force, it will not eject a live round.

If you look at the photo, you will see what the problem is, It looks like the cartridge rim has slipped out of the ejector claw.

I had the same problem with Ranger 155gr HP, there was another thread a while back about the same thing, and I added some pics to it. I filed the bottom of the barrel shroud just enough that the bullet doesn't hang up there. Took a standard metal file, and filed 3-4 strokes, then reassembled, and repeated until the bullets would eject easily.
I bought the ported barrel for my CW40, and that whole corner is rounded off on it, no problems at all with that one.
You could probably round that corner off like on the ported barrel if you wanted too, I don't think it would hurt anything, I just removed some material from the bottom corner until the bullet cleared. Then used an emory board to smooth it out some.
That looks like an even wider mouth than the Ranger's have, so you might need to do a little more filing than I did. Or just take round the whole corner off. Here is a pic of the standard and ported barrels. See how they rounded that whole corner off on the ported barrel on the left?

No, it's fully engaged, the extractor has functioned as it should, the round is jammed inbetween the top or the barrel and the slide (ejection port)

Thanks for the photo. yes, that is what I am contemplating doing, but I have some reservations about doing it. IMO this should not be an issue and so I wanted to see what others have expirienced and what if any solutions there are.
Again, thanks for the post.

I couldn't find anything else that worked, I could yank the slide as hard as I could and the bullet would still get lodged there. Now I am not the strongest person in the world, but it should not be that difficult to unload your weapon.

My old style P40 does the exact same thing as in the photo. Do all of the new 40's have the rounded edge on the barrel or is this just on the ported versions?
My CW40 is less than a year old.

My CW40 did the same thing. After looking it over I decided to file a slight radius on the ejector, which solved the problem.
