I swapped out my awesome CW45 for an older PM40 earlier today. It's got a JA serial number, but it has the new style scalloped slide. I need to call Kahr and find out a bit more about this gun and see if it made a trip back to back at some point in it's life.

I checked it out pretty good at the shop, but found an unpleasant surprise when I got it home and field stripped it. The genius that had it before me didn't really understand how the slide stop spring worked and has bent it to heck. The screw that holds the spring got loose and rather than tighten it, they just jammed the slide stop into the slot and bent the spring arm into the frame and under the slide stop.

So for the first time ever, I need to find a T6 Torx key and order a replacement spring slide stop spring and retaining screw and washer. Anyone know where I can find a size 6 Torx key?

What about your local hardware store.

Thanks all. I like that key set over the multi bit drivers. I'll chase one of those down.

Never would have guessed that JA was the current series.

Make sure whatever you buy has the T6 as the first one I bought didn't go that small. Also do NOT over tighten that screw as it's going into the poly like a wood screw and will strip easily. I only hope the former owner didn't already do that.

I finally got my set of Bondhus short shank Torx keys and my replacement spring from Kahr. It took some discovery and practice to get the new spring positioned correctly before tightening it down. I'm really glad I had another PM handy to use as a reference for positioning the spring. It's more involved than simply dropping it into the frame.

Got my Torx keys from Amazon and highly recomend them for delicate work like this. It looks identical to the Wiha set that Geo posted a link to. I also suggest picking up the Wiha tool magnetizer/demagnetizer to help hold the screw on the Torx key when reassembling.
