Hello. I am purchasing my second gun tommorow.
It will be a CM9.
I want a good EDC, and don't want to break the bank.
I did think of a J frame but 9mm ammo is cheap, plus a Kahr CM9 might be easier to carry.

I have read about racking the slide anywhere from 50 to 500 times before firing. I will obviously clean it and oil it once I get it.

I have read about failures with springs and all these other things with newer pistols. That is what a warranty is for.
I figure if there is anything to do before firing the gun, such as slide racks multiple times, and all that it will be in the owners manual.

Any info on these guns from you guys would be great.
I have read through multiple threads and they seem to do many just fine.

Any holster suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I ordered some Pearce grip extensions for my newly purchased CM9.

Read the stickes on lube & prep

Racking is up to you. Some folks swear by it. As Jocko likes to point out the bang thing does more to loosen the gun than racking.

Storing the gun with the slide locked back will help too.

An option or two for IWB holsters.

Not sure of how you want to carry it but grip extenders combined with pocket carry probably defeat the purpose of having a small(er) gun. Of course the usual YMMV.

Good luck and hope that you get a good one!

You can get the black plastic Kahr baseplate like used on the cw9 which might make it a fuller grip only leaving the pinkie dangling.

+1 on the Pearce grip extenders. Gives you a place for your pinky, but still small and easily concealable. Watch out for the 7 round mags. Mine are lemons and pretty much un-usable.

Yeah I couldn't get over weekend. Will get 6rnd as extra mag. For a while I figure I might shoot WITHOUT grip extenders and maybe try em later if I want.

That's a sound plan. I like to go for compact myself and get used to shooting with the mag unaltered. Some like the extenders for range but again I like to shoot the way I carry.

If your not gonna do the pocket carry thing you could put extenders on all your mags so things stay the same. Gives you another option anyhow.

leave the 1 unaltered and your spare with a extender. carry with the short 1 to keep things smaller easier to conceal. plus shooting with your pinky tucked under is almost un noticeable youll get used to it quick

I ended up getting a CW9. It fit my hand better.
I think it's great.
