That looks like a pre-Kahr gun. My 1911 has different roll markings on the slide.

Thats what I was thinking but I'm not sure

Thats a early West Hurley AO gun. It has been built from some Mil surp parts on a Essex frame & slide. If it has "Colt 45ACP" stamped on top of the barrel, it was made in 81-83 (up to E04000 SN). If it has no stamp there, be prepared to get a better barrel. These early guns were very good but bad parts came in to play on the latter guns made after that SN range.
