View Full Version : Newl Aquired P380
Well I'm back up to three Kahr's again. I bought it from another member on this site. Not sure if it is an earlier production model, certainly hasn't been shot much. I added a Hogue Jr rubber grip like I did on my other two Kahrs...I hate that cheese grater front & back strap.
So far I havn't shot it yet, but took it down, gave it a good bath & lube, even tried loading several magazines from the slide stop, sling shot method, and with various bullet cinfigurations without a hitch. I beleive if I do my part all will function as designed....or maybe it is just wishfull thinking on my part.
Comments anyone?????

Did you question the previous owner about the times he fired the gun.
f you were new to guns and read some of the gun forums about all the problems would you even be able to choose a gun to buy. Have faith!
No man I am far from new to guns my fiiend. Been shotting firearms since I was ten years old...now fifty nine. Been relaoding & casting bullets for over 38 years to boot.
I always wanted one of these since they first came out a few years ago. Never could find one or one at a respectable price...so to make a long story short first aquired a PM45 followed in the same year by a PM9 and love them both.
As for the questions to the original owner...yes he only ran a box or two through the pistol, so for all practical purposes a new non brokemn in pistol.
I did the Kahr clean up, lube chart & rack routine already...just waiting for the opportunity to wring her out possibly this weekend. I had a few problems breaking in my PM45 in the first 100-150 round, but she smoothed out fine and is one of my prefered carry guns when properly attired, otherwise it is my PM9 with my "Pug" bug in 22 magnum.
I feel after playing with this little P380 it should function just fine. Sometimes my dress makes pocket carry a bit more noticeable with the PM9. This little P380 just melts away in my pocket.
PS: I forgot to mention that the previous owner just wanted a larger more powerful pistol. He was looking for a Kimber "Solo" or somthing very similar.

I just picked up a P380 2 days ago,Its a used one guy said he put 100 thru it and he said it ran fine(for what thats worth) ,but Im unable to shoot it for about 2 to 3 more months due to a hand injury,I dont really worry about all the problems i read on the interweb,If i did none of my Para's would fire, all my Glocks would explode and my kimber would jam every other round:D
Id love to hear how yours did please give a range report:popcorn:

As Jocko would say, "shoot it like you stole it", then give us a range report.

Well here is my range report on that quisition last weekend. Stopped off at the local range on my waty home Friday evenning.
Bought two boxes of S&B (cause thats all they had) and went to work. I starte doff at 3 yards for function drills.....narry a hitch. Got into the second box and stated shooting at 7 yards and all printed close and tight at the bottom of the bull in the X ring, with only two stragglers just touching the nibe ring, but still in the bull.
I saved a couple of mags for double & triple taps with two to the chest and one to the head with very good result...didn't miss a one even shooting quickly while looking over the top of the front sight. I even saved the last two mags for stickly head shots and made them all with the exception of the last one taking off the targets ear.
I was very supressed and happy with the accuracy nd the way the pistol functioned. Next outing I will be bringing some JHP & FMJ reloads.

I think S&B works good in these guns. It's the cheapest too.

WWB isn't supposed to work in these guns. Yours must work better than most.

I have a RA17XX and it runs like a top...when I called Kahr, if I remeber correctly they said it was made in June of '09. Way before some of their production problems. I have complete confidence in mine and it is usually part of my EDC.
