Rep section?

I was thinking a good idea for the forum would be something I have seen on other sites. I recently made a very smooth transaction with a felow forum member. I think it would be a great idea if somewhere on the forum (maybe bottom of the marketplace?) there was a place to let everyone know how the trasaction went. That way if you are looking to buy or sell something, you know how the person is to deal with.

For that limited purpose, and no other maybe. Otherwise EVERY board I have seen that had a rep system degenerated into a nasty mess and the system eventually was tanked.

Hmmm.... didn't think about that espect of it. What about another option where you can give a member rep points? Something that people can see when they see your info. That way no comments are left but you get a little pat on the back for doin well?

Do people do that many REPEAT transactions that the "rep" system would actually be of benefit?

Doesn't have to be repeat... any member can gives points to any other member. So for example I could give points to the person I bought from, they could give points to me n so forth n so on everytime you make a smooth sell or purchase. Might not get a lot of points if you rarely buy or sell, but every little bit would make the other person more comfortable dealing with you.

My point was, you need to buy, or sell AGAIN (at least two transactions) to make it worth anything at all.

Whats the use of any rep whatsoever if you only sell or buy one item here?

My contention is that the vast majority of transactions are one hit wonders, making a rep system rather lame duck.

O ok I gotcha... didn't know it wasn't real common. Yeah if people don't do several sales or buys its kinda of helpless.

Every other forum I'm a member of uses Itrader.

I left it disabled due to the mess I have seen on other sites. We really don't have the moderator staff numbers here to watch that in detail. With VB4 I may have additional options for setting up the marketplace area.
