not only has kahr being doing this caliber/size for awhile, and also not knocking springfield, i'm sure it'll be a nice gun...but the P45 is 3oz lighter, .25" longer barrel, pretty much same width, and +1 round over the XDs. no brainer if you ask me. kahr trigger vs springfield trigger...um, no thanks, i'll take the kahr.
and that's the P45, not the PM...go to the PM and match the capacity but lighten the load further.
all the way around, kahr wins imo.

Springfield triggers are not good or not as good?

Nice gun, but My Kahr CW45 is cleaner looking and more "elegant" than the Springer.

But I love my SA 1911A1 GI .45:

Out of the box my CW45 had a better trigger than my XD45. Had a great trigger job done on the XD by springer precision. Like butter now, as well as feeling a bit shorter. I think the CW, as good as the trigger is, will only get smoother as it gets shot in.

Kahr all the way. They are ahead of their time based on everything I have seen.
The Springfield trigger is a rather pediculous affair, not unlike the release on rusted garage door mechanism.

dunno if you are referring to my post or others. i didn't say the trigger on a XD/XDm were no good. all i said was kahr trigger vs springfield trigger, if given the choice, i'd rather have the kahr. meaning i'd rather have the long smooth trigger pull over the type of trigger in most other striker fired guns on the market (springfield, glock, m&p). just my preference. guess i'm just partial to revolver-ish triggers. i have been tossing around getting a walther PPQ which is 'MORE' on the whole typical glock-ish trigger, so not sure why i like it, probably the ergos of the gun in general are so much better than the others that i'm willing to accept the tigger mechanism.

All of the XD models are made in Croatia...just saying :)

Love my Kahrs but the are obviously not for uniformed duty usage. SA XD's are the best for that.

The number 1 job of a trigger is to make the gun go bang... which requires the trigger to reset on its own after every shot. Therefore, the XD trigger is better ;).

I handled the XD at SHOT and will say it again here. The ergos stunk. To me it felt like a Walther PPS. It in no way rivals a CW or P45 for fitting the hand. I would also bet that any Kahr 45 will shoot rings around the XD for accuracy. Kahr uses very high grade barrels in all its models. Not knocking XDs, I have had a pile of them and used to run XDTalk when it was owned by Crossbreed. The guns are fine in general, I just don't think this particular one stacks up equally against Kahr's 45 caliber offerings. If a person is dedicated to the XD and wants one to keep consistency in their pistol configurations, more power to them. My recently acquired CW45 will NOT be leaving my collection for any foreseeable reason.

I'll most likely liquidate my Kahr lineup now that the XDs is out, love my XDm and really looking forward to a similar compact carry piece.

for lawenforcement a double stack is going to prevail 99% of the time. As we all know they can carry fully exposed with 4 magazines, cuff holder, maceholder where as we would look like a monkey in a pig farm doing that, let alone even wanting to do that. No doubt if I was a uniformed officer I would want a 10 shot 45 over any kahr 5 shot, or 17 round G17 over any kahr 7 round 9mm...
No doubt this wa snever kahr itentions to try to even think of invading into the police market. They gave it a good shot with the K9 in the nypd for years but finally pulled out of that venture to:blah:

Was bitten before the Kahr world, at the time they just didn't offer anything small enough.

I'll certainly be looking closely at the single stack 9mm when it comes out.
