There has been some discussion (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11528) about whether there would be a market for a Kahr .22LR DAO pistol in a similar shape/size to the CM9, for inexpensive practice.

How would you react if Kahr made a .22LR DAO pistol?

Note: This is a POLL THREAD.
Please just cast your vote. If you want to discuss in more detail, here's the discussion thread: http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11528

Write-in vote: It depends - I'd have to see it and try it first.

I have a P22, great gun so I'd vote too late for me.

Really wouldn't get any reaction from me. Already have the 22's I wanted both are Rugers.. Love shooting my 22's but there are other pistols and rifles I have much more interest in than another 22.

Just picked up an old bolt action Mossin Nagant 91/30 earlier in the week. Cleaned it up this morrning and can't wait to get out and shoot it.:w00t:

Oh God.. my reaction.

First off, I'd be thankful that Interpol has evidence that the rabbit has gotten some Trix. We should therefore have one less bunny to contend with.

It wont be locked breach. There are none.

If Kahr comes out with its own .22, and its a nice pistol... I'd get one, just because.

The just because factor - for me - doesn't apply to the .40 or to the .380... only because I really dont do much, and never have done much, with those cartridges (except a certain malfunctioning MAC-10/380 that needed extensive testing... ahem)

If a blowback design, it would have to be a 22 mag to kick the superman recoil springs Kahr puts in their pistols. I would look at a 22 mag., may buy, but I have 3 others now. Maybe.

lots of dreamin here, that is for sure. as it ain't gonna happen. Maybe the desert eagle line they own might do something like that. I see kahr staying where kahr knows best..

My next .22 pistol is going to be a revolver, hopefully the 10 shot S&W 617, or even an older non-lock 6 shot model if I run across one.

Bah, all the talk of .22's... what I want, I'll end up getting before Ruger quits making them again. A stainless Bearcat. Just a nice simple, fun to shoot pistol.

My 617-6 just arrived a few weeks ago. Solid. Heavy. Wow.

Hi QuercusMax, what's your opinion on the 617? Did you go with the 6 inch or 4 inch barrel? Is it as accurate as you had hoped? Anything you don't really like about it?
I don't mind the weight much, I have 6 inch barrels on my 629 and 686, figured I'd go 6 on the 617. I want to be able to shoot .22 shorts and not make a lot of noise to get the cops called out here, and be able to shoot more than one round at a time, without reloading, like I have too with my Buckmark or 10/22. Figured when I got all 3 I'd make a display case with a hinged, lockable glass front to show them off and hang them down in my basement office or in my bedroom where very few would see it.

I have several other .22s including a Remington 12C rifle, along with a BuckMark (which I love) and a Beretta 87 Target (also very nice), both of which are SAO's with very nice triggers. I got the 617-6 (which is the 6" model) because I wanted something different. Having only just gotten it I'm hardly an expert, but my initial observations are as follows:

* It's heavy. Some people in other forums like the 4" better, but I'm still OK with this one. I like the longer sight radius and solid feel.
* I have not tried any shorts. Reports I have read by others on their use varies from "much quieter" to "no difference".
* In double action mode, the trigger is very heavy - much like my Beretta 92FS. In single action mode, it's fine.
* Can't comment on accuracy yet. This is such a new weapon to me that I need some more adjustment time to make a judgment on that, but my accuracy in double action mode is nothing I am proud of at this point.
* It seems about the same loudness as my other long-barrel .22 pistols, but it's hard to gauge that for sure without actually measuring it.

I'd like to see a Kahr in .22LR about the same size as the P380. I think that they would sell as well as a Walther PPK in .22.

Thanks QM. I hate to drop $600-800 on a .22, particularly when you can get about the same thing in a Taurus for half the price, but in 10 years, I'll still be able to get what I paid for the 617, while the Taurus won't hold it's value very well, at least it's been that way in prior experience. The used S&W's seem to keep up with inflation pretty well as long as you keep them in good shape.

GAHHHH. I wish I had read this before I voted. I aint interested in a tiny lil 22. Well except for the NAA Earl BP version.

I am however interested in a 22 the size of the K9 with threaded barrel.

This end of the market is already crowded and KAHR cannot offer anything new or inspiring to customers that has not been offered by others.
