Hello CM9 owners,
Got my Crimson Trace mount in my CM9 and try my new Mitch Rosen CLP, this holster is very tigh, can't pull the gun out with one hand, have to use both hands, any ideas in how to get it loose?

All holster makers will tell you to wrap your gun with plastic wrap and put it in the holster. Leave it that way over night or a day or so. That'll do it.

+1. If still tight, use double bag, especially use those came with the holsters.

While new holsters are typically tight, but rather strange for a CLP being sooo tight even if new.. all my bought-new CLP did not require any break in (by design, it is not a "detail" tightly conforming holster)... not sure if it is related to the Crimson Trace ??

Clipper .. in fact is my all time favorite, I have 4 of them in total, :D I love them dearly, I can wear it comfortably anywhere between 2 to 4 o'clock, low riding = deep conceal... I even have tried them -- just at home -- as OWB (between the belt and the trousers) and it appears works well with small micro like PM, CW.

galco makes a product called holster eze. its a liquid you rub into the leather and then holster and unholster a few times it really helps.

.. or.. Mitch Rosen has a "leather lightning" for ya, too. But that'll be the last resort.. good old fashion double-bag has worked for many many years..

Well... while were talking about making holsters work... I just got a sof tuck for my cm9 n its a lil snug, so ill try the double bag her trick. What I noticed as welll is there is a decent amount of extra leather after the muzzle of the gun... can I just trim this excess off? It will still completly cover the gun, but be a little less of a pain (literally) when I sit down with it in the 4:00 position.

I think you can do about anything you want to a $20 holster! Sure, trim it, as long as you aren't going to cause a sewn seam to come undone. I guess a spot of super glue on any loose thread would solve that problem, though. :)

Thanks jfotin! There's no thread where I was thinking of trimming, I was just worried about the leather coming apart... shouldn't be a concern? What should I trim with? Razorblade do the trick?

You decide on what instrument to use. My hands are real clumsy, so I would probably try to use scissors, maybe a wire cutter, a little at a time. Just seems like it would be too easy to veer off line with a razor blade.

I trimmed a holster for a 4 inch barrel down to a 2.5" barrel and put a good amount of glue on the thread and it's been fine for about 3 years now. I think I used one of those serrated blade kitchen knives.
