Just picked up my NIB PM45. Cleaned and lubed the gun, function checked and then loaded Hornady CD to start the break in. I loaded the weapon and then proceeded to pull the slide to the rear to eject the seeded round to test the extractor. The slide is stuck with a very little amount of movement to the rear.

Any suggestions how I can SAFELY clear this weapon?

hit the back of the slide with the palm of you hand to make sure its in full battery. then with a quick HARD PULL of the slide the rd will jump out.

none my kahrs eat everything. go to wall-mart and get the rem umc 250rd pack shoot the whole box for breakin and shoot atleast 25rds of the defence ammo you like to see if your gun likes it. i use rem golden saber non plus p's. but your gun is rated to shoot +p's.

Kahr 45's and Hornady bullets don't mix and will lock up your gun as described. I had the same issue with a P45 and Hornady TAP ammo. PPretty much everything other than Hornady will work.

Headed to the range tomorrow w/ UMC mega box! I will report back on my break in session. Anyone have any exp using Powerball ammo for personal protection? Hear it feeds very reliable in the PM45 as well as an excellent man stopper.

Not in the .45 version but the 9mm version. Feeds awesome. Never a fail. It's a whole lot snappier in the 9mm than my normal range fodder. I like it alot.

Just get some nice Speer 230-gr Gold Dots... the Short Barrel version. You can't get better ammo... or maybe the BONDED Remington Golden Sabers. BJHP= Brass Jacketed Hollow Points. The Bonded ones have a Golden Label saying "Bonded".

Mine hate Winchester white box ( with the flat tips) and get indigestion
on Hornady.

I've run two mags of Winchester Ranger-T through my PM45 without any hiccups. I've only put 160 rounds through it though I bought it used with 250 rounds on it per the seller. So 410 rounds through it. I haven't had any jams yet between the Winchester and the cheapo Federal FMJ.
