I have seen a number of posts throughout this site and the interwebs discussing K series slides not going all the way into battery unless the "sligshot" method or slide release was used. Mine needed a little help right out of the box but not that I have 600+ rounds through it, I can release the slide ever so slowly on a live round and the slide goes into battery just fine.

My first K40 had this issue but it was new. Don't even think I shot more than 200 rounds through it before I stupidly sold it to fund a 1911. I bought a second used k40 and just polished the hell out of the internals smoothing everything out. I did this before even firing it. I can also ride the slide down (even on JHP) slowly and it feeds just great. Once the kahrs break in they run incredibly smooth. IMO they are one of the best machined pistols you can buy. They come with such a tight fit that riding the slide can nose dive the round. When things loosen up they run smooth.

Yeah, I did a little polishing on my K9 the other day. Trigger bar has a mirror shine on it, striker block is polished as well as the striker itself. My new 5# striker spring should be in tomorrow or Friday. I have been waiting for a while (Wolffe was waaaaay backed up on orders) for the lighter spring, which I think I will like.
But yes, I agree, this is one fine pistol. Smooth as could be.
