Hello Everyone, First, thank you for all the knowlege and experiences posted in this forum. I read all I could before I bought a CW9.

Second, I received my pistol and it has a cosmetic defect that I'm leaning toward ignoring. I called Kahr and I can send the slide back for a replacement slide back plate. What do you all think? Here is a picture.

Are you refering to the little "goober" on the back plate?
Ask them to send you a new one. Send photos.
Then you have a really great excuse to do a full upper tear down and cleaning. If I had to do it all over I would have done that just to be sure there was nothing in the striker channel. Lots of how-to's on this forum for walking you through it.

ps: Welcome to the forum and enjoy that new gun.

Yea...uh...welcome. I would've bet a whole nickel I saw this exact same pic and topic earlier this week. Hmmmm. Anyway my CW9 is way more fun than I expected and I am enjoying it.

Hard call on wether to send it back or not. For me I think I'd leave it as is....I think.

Just email the pic to Kahr CS and they'll send you a new back plate.

Welcome to KahrTalk.

I hate when that happens with the purchase of a new item. I know it is a minor blemish but I'd want it remedied or be given a discount.

I definitely would not send it back. If they'll send you a new one that would be the ticket right there. Otherwise I'd not give it a thought or maybe approach it with a small file and clean it up a bit.

Sort of like the first ding in your new truck. It hurts the worst but really don't effect how the truck drives, unless of course it's a really big ding.

Well, another way to look at is to tell them, "OK. You don't want to do it the easy and inexpensive way. Then send me a new slide and enclose a prepaid shipping label for me to send this defective one back."

I just confirmed with the one of the very few people in high places that I know that this is BS. Pure horse pukey.

blknh, PM sent.

Maybe its like the first ding on a new car, it ads character and now you don't have to worry about it? I hope you enjoy shooting yours as much as I do mine.:yo:

I went to my outdoor range today and the CW9 worked perfectly. I shot Blazer Aluminum in 115gn and 147gn, Wolf 115gn, Federal Classic 147gn HP and Hydro-Shock 147's. No hiccups of any kind. I did chamber the gun one time by slingshot and it worked fine. Just under 200 rounds total, I'm calling it broken in and ready for service.

Anybody else's CW9 shooting low on target ? Took my brand new CW9 out to range and shot ~250 Federal FMJ and most were hitting ~4-5" below target. This is with sight perfectly aim at red target in the middle. Anybody else noticing the same thing ? I had to aim higher on target just to get bullets to hit target. BTW, I was shooting at a target 10 yards away...
