Hello,
I just purchased my second Kahr, a PM9 to use as my BUG and some plain clothes carry. I know all the debate on which ammo is best in 9mm, but what runs most reliably in these PMs? In my full size Berettas I use Federal 115BPLE +p+. Any thoughts?

PM9s don't seem to be ammo sensitive. You will see lots of recommendations for Gold Dots mostly 124gr +P, Critical Defense, Hydra Shoks etc. I personally like the HST 124gr in both +P and standard.

Mine won't hand rack very many rounds but does very well with the Winchester PDX1 Bonded in 124 grain.
That said, it eats everything I feed it.

We use HST in our 40s. I think you suggestion on the 124gr HST might be the ticket. Thanks

Remington golden saber 124 +P BJHP for me, 12 bucks for 25 rds at sportmansguide.com works for me no jams on the 6 rd mags only problematic on the 7 rd mags but this is due to the 7 rds mag not the bullet, Kahr sent me a newly designed base plate I'll post results as soon as get a chance, I also purchased 25 rounds of winchester bonded PDX1 elite at wally world for $17.00 + tax to try. As for practice rounds winchester NATO 124 gr +P at sports authority can be had for $12.00 + tax for 50 rds per box, little bit more that the 115gr but well worth it in my opinion a bit more kick but works very well on very short barrels.

in my CM9, I've had no issues with Winchester Ranger 147gr. Granted, it is the only ammo in 9mm JHP that my city carries, so I'm stuck with it.

I can't remember all of the different types of ammo that I have run through my PM9. It has run just fine with they wide variety of ammo I have used.
I really like the Gold Dot 124 standard pressure or +P I have carried both.

My PM9 has eaten everything I can get in the magazine. I like gold dots and Blackhills extra power

kahrs by and large are just not ammo sensitive..
I’ve ran 23 different loads in my PM9, no issues. Carry Gold Dot 124+p or 147 gr.

The steep angle + filled cavity on hornady's critical defense really makes it feed well in my Kahr

Well mine seems to like 115gr standard velocity. It's the most accurate. No malfunctions of any kind.

My PM9 seems to like the GDHP 124gr the best so thats what I carry. Out on the Range 115 FMJ.

Another vote for Black Hills. Both their 115 EXPs and 124 +Ps.

the Federal BPLE +p+ 115gr. load is quite good and had a sound track record with the Dekalb County Police in in Georgia from their full sized guns.
if you want a +p round this seems to be the one to shine as the velocity loss (ever so slight) from a mini Kahr will allow the round to penetrate more before expansion comes into play.
at a cost of $18.00 per 50 rounds from places like CTD they seem to be a good choice.

i am running the GD 124+p short barrel rounds, run fine so far
I have 950 rounds through my PM9. Almost all of it has been Lawman 147 and Gold Dot 147. I have not had a single failure of any kind.

Tried some HST 124+P in mine and it was a bit snappy but accurate.

I do notice that very very few people shoot the corbon powerr ball 9mm in their kahrs. I love the roud but have never seen anyone who agrees wit me on it. It is a very hot round for 90 grsains but feeds oh so good. Just sayin

I agree with you Jocko and carry it. I too like the snap and the ease of feeding it provides.
Only problem is finding it.

I have had my PM9 for about 3 years. It has never failed to function with any ammo. Remington's Golden Saber loads a little rough with the first round from a fresh mag like it is hanging up a bit but it has always loaded. I have avoided it because it was the only one I had any concerns about with setback. I don't know if that concern is justified because I have never measured any differences in length. However I load and unload a lot. Generally I carry either TAP or critical defense. They are accurate and function smoothly in my PM9.
