Didn't want to derail the 'success stories' thread, where I mentioned that my new (and so far flawless at the range) P380 had a minor cosmetic issue out of the box, -- or so I consider it, possibly in my ignorance, -- where the plastic panel at the very top of the grip on the right side is a bit curved and isn't sitting flush with the frame; I can depress it with my finger and it moves about a millimeter with a tiny "snapping"/clicking sound.

So, per Cokeman's request (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=143654#post143654), here are some pics:

To show the difference, here's its "free state":

And here's how it goes in/back when I push on it:

And from another angle:

So like I said on the other thread, this doesn't seem (to my untrained eye at least) to cause any structural or functional problems, it appears purely cosmetic. Or maybe it is even within the expected norm...(?)

The single most important thing for me is the reliability; I don't care that much about the looks. But just thought I'd post anyway, in case my "untrained eye" is wrong and it IS some type of a more serious problem than it appears (in which case I hope someone will let me know, please...?)

Thanks

Copy & paste this thread and photos and send an email to Kahr.
See what their take is on it. While it's not giving you issues now, what about down the road or in a SHTF situation?
I'd get their read on this one. It's not right.

It appears to be cosmetic. Probably a bit of flashing that's preventing the part from fitting properly. Did you remove the cover and inspect it? It could be that you only have to loosen the screw, position the part correctly and tighten the screw. Becareful not to over tighten the screw. If you don't feel confident in trouble shooting it, by all means, send it back to Kahr.
