A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Bullard Dual Carry for my CW9. After giving it some thought and wearing the CW9 in a Hume IWB 715 I decided that even though it's a great looking holster I didn't want the thickness of the Dual Carry's leather front *and* leather back. I've decided to go the Kydex route--either MTAC or SuperTuck.

Anyway, I emailed Mr Bullard on the 4th and asked if I could change my order from a Dual Carry to a Bandit OWB. He replied back in less than two hours and said it was no problem at all and that he'd refund the difference through PayPal.

Two days later (Feb 6) I got the PayPal refund notification *and* a shipping notification. Apparently he had the Bandit in stock--either that or he's really fast :D.

The Bandit arrived today and looks great! I have the same holster for my P238 and love it. It pulls the gun in a little tighter than the Hume JIT and has a little more forward cant. Great holster for $45.

Here's a shot of the JIT for comparison

That is a very nice looking holster, especially for $45. I haven't seen many others that look so good for that price.

I would say it looks nicer than the Hume JIT for sure, but how does it compare in terms of effectiveness? Does one perform better than the other in terms of retention, printing, comfort etc.? The Hume JIT looks like a great deal too, at a lesser price point, for $25 or whatever it is now.

I think it's mainly because of the distance between belt loops, but the Bandit pulls the gun in a little tighter to my side which I like. It doesn't really matter with the CW9 but the Bandit also has leather backing up higher that keeps the manual safety on the P238 from being bumped.

I don't know that there will be a big difference in comfort between the two and both have very good retention with a slight advantage going to the Bandit--probably because there is more leather in contact with the gun.

As another forum member pointed out, and I agree, you really need to draw straight up with the JIT. If you pull forward at all while drawing it will hang. The Bandit naturally leans a little more forward and it doesn't hang at all (for me) while drawing.

The JIT is still an excellent deal for the price but now that I have the Bandit I went ahead and put my JIT up for sale.
