Has the XDS been discussed here as yet? I did a search but could not find any reference to this offering. Saw something from Shot Show with Springfield touting the gun and how they skipped the small nines and went straight to the .45. No mention about Kahr .45s.

Yep, a few times.

The results of searching for 'Springfield XDS' bring up at least these three:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=10552&highlight=springfield+xds
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=10756&highlight=springfield+xds
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=10513&highlight=springfield+xds

I'm in line for the 9mm when it comes out.

Thanks for your reply...

Very embarrasing that this old fart can't even use a simple search engine. :(

Don't feel bad at all, I search all the time for stuff I know is there and can't find it. It's all in getting the right words into the search.
Hold your head up, no shame.

You're very kind Bawanna... It is worse than that as I just finished going through the threads and low and behold I even posted to the first one! It is tough getting old. I feel so bummed out now I think only buying a new gun or bow will pull me out of this depression. :)

A shiny new gun or bow is good therapy for depression. Shall I send you a prescription. It would be fraud since I'm not a doctor but anything I can do to help another brother in depression you know.
Some I guess get addicted to Oxy and pain meds, I'm addicted to guns.

Go forth and buy.

The search for the perfect holster is, for me, a good remedy for depression. I have found some of the best people making holsters. I get my creative juices going and experiment with placement using an Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster, which stays put real well IWB because of the grip strip that goes around it. Then, I engage these guys by email, sometimes asking about custom modifications. Some of them don't have the time, and I understand that. But others do and are willing to work with me. I have a tight budget and can only buy a gun perodically. But I can indulge my holster desires on a regular basis!

I have learned from experience that you just can't trust most of the big name nanufacturers to send a holster that is specifically made to fit your gun. Instead, they send a holster that will (sort of) fit a whole list of guns. So, I go to the smaller, one man, custom made one at a time shops. You get a holster that will fit perfectly and a level of personal service that is very enjoyable.

I avoid the huge collection of "holster mistakes" by returning unsatisfactory products for refund and selling others that are good but don't fit my current needs. I recover 60-80% of my investment that way, and I am learning to be more discerning when picking holsters.

I intend to take some high quality photos of my current gun, holster and knife collection, modest as it is, using my new camera, and post them in a thread with some nuggets of wisdom that I have picked up on the journey. My current collection started in early June of last year with the purchase of my custom mirror polished CM9, and has grown with some carefully selected holsters and a couple of knives. I have recently added a S&W J-frame that is getting the trigger refined at the gunsmith's. My holster quest for it is still ongoing. And there will be more guns,,,, and more holsters,,,, and more knives. A continuing pleasure! :D

If Kahr doesn't get on the stick and make the CM45, I am getting and XDS when available.

I just had a giggle, a squirrel in a gangster hat carrying a 45 XDS. Another dreadful day, doesn't take much to be a highlight.

Thank you.

About the same size and weight as the P45/CW45, yet it only carries 5+1 like the smaller, lighter PM45.

It is a good looking pistol, sturdy looking, like it ought to be called Bulldog. ;) It's so chunky looking that I thought it was smaller, until I saw the specs. And I was scratching my head trying to figure out how it could weigh 29 oz, until they finally corrected that. LOL!
