Quick review: Serial # RB15**
I. New in box, pistol would not shoot correctly; FTF, FTE, Magazine would not release, premature lock open, failure to go into battery, firing pin would hit primer, but nothing. Tried 4 different shooters, 6 different ammos, lube job, etc. etc. No good.
II. Sent to Kahr. Kahr replaced, mags, firing pin, ejector, slide stop. Did not replace frame.
III. Test fire = Ok. Pistol fired 90 rounds of magtech without a hiccup. After 90 rounds, pistol went into pre-kahr service, FTF, premature lock open, etc.
- Took pistol home, polished, lubed, etc. 600 grit paper on slide stop, took off about .007" and polished everything. went shooting today, just under 100 rounds. Out of 100 rounds only had one premature lock open, but had numerous failure to lock open at last round. Obviously took a skiff too much, but sure beats all the premature lock open. Other than that, pistol now shoots until mag is empty. I consider gun about 90% reliable. A qualitative figure yes, but about right considering back ground of pistol and model in general, and confidence level with this pistol.
Question: Would you carry it knowing this?
