My wife and I owned 2 PM9's. She never liked hers and favors the G26. So yesterday we were at a gun show and I traded one of the PM9's for a new P380 for myself. I am off to the range today. I will reply back with a report on how the P380 performs.

I just got back from the range and had 1 FTE out of 50 rounds. It was fun to shoot and very accurate.

They're pretty sweet aren't they?

I am going to put a set of night sights on it next week.

Yeah, spend that money on ammo and practice point shooting instead. Night sights sound great in theory, but when reality hits you'll point and shoot - might as well be proficient at it.

I'd rather carry my PM9 or my Glock 26 but there are times when only the pocket .380 will do. Best of luck with your PP380.

Congratulations on the P380. It is one of the best CCW that you cn buy.
I would forget the night sights and install a Crimson Trace laser instead.
It will serve you far better than N.S. on this pistol. FWIW, I use a C.T. on my P380 and am very pleased with it.

I live in Florida so I am in shorts 90% of the time. The 380 fits nicely in my front pocket holster. I already ordered the Trijicon Night Sights. A friend of mine is a Gunsmith so he will install them for nothing. The LG-433 Laser sights look pretty good.

Everyone should try night sights & lasers for themselves. I agree with Thunder that most engagements will be point shooting and you'll never see your sights. However, odds are the engagement will be in low light and night sights are a real plus if/when you need them - especially in a dark room in your house. I don't care for lasers and shoot worse with them. It's all personal preference and everyone should figure out what works best for them.

I liked that the night sights were a bit taller. I figured I could shoot better with them. I still wonder if I would have liked the smaller regular sights better. I wish I could have had a Novak rear sigh on my P380. I like the look of them better.

I looked into the Novak sights. When I went on their web sight it seemed that they only offered Kahr 9mm, 40 and 45 series.

I went with the Big dot night sights and the CT laser. Best of both worlds!

I've put 200 rounds through this P380, 50 per range visit. I know 250 is considered the break in period. But I've had a lot of issues the first 200 rounds. I've had about 9 FTF and the ones that concern me the most is the no fires. I've had about 5 of those. I can't tell if it's a light primer strike since I need glasses to see that closely.

I just dropped the mag out, rack the chamber to get the round out. I reloaded that round in the magazine and then it fires.

After every 50 rounds I clean and lube the P380. I am using Remington .380 Automatic 95 GR.

Any suggestions?

IMO if the light strikes continue, call kahr, . Haveu made sure the striker channel is clean as a whistle???. Other than that if u get slight strikes, my bet it is trigger bar rleqated and needs to go back. When u get this no fire check to see if the slide has fdully returned to battery and maybe is not sticking back a tad, If that is the iseue, then I would call kahr and ask for a new sert of recoil springs. Personally I think I will need to go back.

Why will you need to go back?

Good one.
Yes I clean the crap out of that area. I will go back to the range sometime this week and fire another 50 rounds.

So the last 50 rounds were good? If your not sure about the slide being closed, push on the back of the slide after each shot to see if it is closed for sure. Mine did that at first.

OK I found out that my thumb was hitting the slide release so that was the cause of no fires. However today I put another 50 rounds through it and had 4 FTF's. So I've put a total of 300 rounds and I am still getting FTF's. I really clean this P380 after each 50 rounds.
Why am I still getting FTF's?

how about calling kahr and asking for a new set of recoil springs to try. U have enoughrounds through it IMO that it shold be OK but it is not, try thyat first and then if no luck ,let kahr have it back to do their stuff.

I called Kahr today and they are sending me FedEx label to ship my P380 back to them. This is the 2ND gun out of three from Kahr that I had to send back to them. I purchased 2 PM9's a couple of years ago. My wife's PM9 was perfect. Mine had all kinds of problems and had to go back to Kahr 2 times before it was fixed. I wonder what kind of Q.C. they do on these guns?

My simple answer to that question would be "not much." My new P380 slide locked back after every shot. Machining burrs on the edge of the slide lock lever prevented the slide lever spring from reaching its correct position on assembly.
