Just traded for a k9. I detaile stripped it and it wasn't bad but the trigger pin is very tight. Anyone remove the trigger? And advice on that?

I was wondering how to take down the lower on my k9. I'll be watching this thread for info. Maybe one of the guru's will make a video?

I cleaned out the lower really well with brake cleaner. I used almost a whole can, just hosed the trigger assembly and all those other little bits. Shine up really well, but took time. Detail stripping the lower would probably be alot easier.

Found this. Shows lower and upper. I got the trigger out. Need a punch and a big hammer. http://www.rifle-company.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2347&start=0&sid=a74a7c26734c5f9636a4d2f4a540c03b&view=print

If I can do it, you can. Of course, I haven't put it back together yet.

When the author says, "The rest is pretty straightforward." That's when I get worried.

I have not detail striped the lower as of yet, but I will be soon.

I tried to remove the trigger pin but chickened out after a couple very hard hits. Was scared I would damage the frame and/or would not be able to put the pin back in. I'm sure a press is needed but not sure the pin could be used again. I'd make sure I had a new pin from Kahr before I removed it.

This^ With my school and work schedule, I have not had time lately to really consider it, make sure I have any pins that might get ruined and watch a youtube or too. I actually enjoy detail stripping my guns. The K9 I have only detail stripped the upper but I do it after every range trip. My XD has been reduced to a pile of small parts several times. I find it relaxing, sort of like a jigsaw puzzle for big kids.
