The April issue of The NRA publication American Rifleman features a great article on the CM9.

Funny how they just happened to receive one in pristine condition. :p
Sorry, just made myself laugh (out loud a little even). I realize it's probably a very small percent that don't look immaculate when they leave Kahr headquarters, just couldn't resist.
The AR did a nice, honest write up on the CM9.
Makes me want to go out and buy one...wait I have the other one, the PM9 that the AR does make reference to in the article. :D
I couldn't find the part where they "racked" the slide 500 times before they fired it though.

The only time I've racked my CM9 by hand was to load it. If you use quality ammo for the break in I don't think that hand racking is necessary. By the same token it doesn't hurt anything, either. My CM9 will load a round into the chamber by using the slide release or hand racking. No problem either way.

My PM9 is the same way and I didn't "rack" the slide 500 times before I took it to the range.
At my age I have better things to with my time other than pull the slide on a pistol 500 times! ;)
I don't think the AR staff read the new gun proper prep thread here on Kahr Talk before firing their CM9 pistol but...they experienced no malfunctions even though their testing took into count the 200 rd. break-in period.
They made no mention of any mags splitting either.
I still think it's a good article on the CM9.

There have been several gun magazine articles recently that featured the CM9 on the cover and every one I have read praised the Kahr as being a quality well built pistol and every one fired accurate groups with zero malfunctions...
I don't believe anything said in a magazine article as their job depends on the gun manufacturers advertising for their main profit so you know they aren't going to come out and say this thing is a total POS and I wouldn't sell one to my worst enemy, it just ain't going to happen....I have read several articles on the DB9 that said the same thing, great little pistol, shoots fantastic with zero ftf/fte etc etc so you know thats a line of bull...
I believe the guns tested by magazines are not stock NIB ones they bought but were are fluffed and buffed by the factory before shipment and are not the same as you or I would pick up at the LGS...
I also believe the current CM9's are having some issues due to Kahr's rushing them to market to try and cash in on the up coming gun buying rush because of the elections and also to do battle with all the other mini 9's like the baby Sig's the Nano, LC9, DB9 and others that have hit the market almost at the same time....Granted IMHO Kahr should have taken care of these things before shipping but they will take care of the problems as they come up for their customers....
All in all the CM9 is a great little gun for the money and in my area they are going for like $389.00 or maybe a little less and its a far cry from a PM9's price of over $600.00 so perhaps some of the ways they were able to cut the price was to leave off some QC and fluff work at the factory....

If that's the case I must have received the one that was supposed to go to American Handgunner. :)
