I’ve put a couple boxes of Speer Gold Dot 124+P and 147 grain through my CW9 and both functioned flawlessly if fact I’ve yet to find a round that did not function in my CW9. Anyway I’m torn on which load to use as my carry round. Was just wounding what your thought were. Thank you in advance for your input.

All the tests I've seen and read about using Speer GD 124 +Ps have been very positive. I've just started paying attention to reports on the 147 and see that they're mostly positive.

I recently changed to Federal HST standard pressure 124 grain based on some tests I've seen with the PM9.

Either should be fine, however I am partial to the 124gr.

I just came back from the range where I finished breaking in my CW9 with FMJ's and tried some HP with different charges.
First 135 were 124 FMJ from Blazer and as time went on I realized my left thumb needed to have more pressure applied in the forward position. As this is DOA, it appears I push the barrel left as I pull back further than my SA's. I noticed the improvement.
BUT when I loaded the 124HP's, I started getting groups and at one charge I got the beautiful triangle which told me the CW likes very much. I used Ramshot Zip at 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3. She likes the 5.2 at 1.065 Zip is similar to HP38.
Than I tried a few Hornady XTP's @ 147 grain and was very impressed with the recoil and the smoothness. I loaded the 147 with HP38 (4.0) and set the bullet to 1.065 and it was so smooth I started to do rapid fire.
This CW9 is a great conceal gun and no one will ever know.

Most folks seem to favor 124/127 +P/+P+ for 9mm Defense rounds.
Specifically -
Winchester Ranger T 127 +P+
Speer Duty GDHP 124 +P
Federal HST 124 +P
My Glock will shoot all of the above, but groups best with GDHPs.
I'm a perfectionist, but beyond simple reliability,
specific guns tend to favor specific ammo.
I personally think it's worth the effort to find this out.

it's hard to beat Speer Gold Dot in any caliber, and I have seen great reports on the 124+p. The 147gr. Is just getting more recognition lately. I have been curious as to why Mas Ayoob, Sanow, Mitchell et al do not recommended the 147gr. In any caliber. They say "it is cursed". Does anyone know the origin of this emphatic putdown?

For my company in the 90's the +P+ and +P dominated the sales. Now they are more of a side note. I keep them in stock because some people like them. Standard pressure rounds have made a come back and the 147 defiantly dominate over all.
Brands do make the difference. In Gold Dot the 124+P is my top but the standard and 147 are strong sellers. HST the standard and 147 are best sellers. The 124+P you can not hardly give it away. Ranger obviously the 147 in both the T and the Bonded dominate by a very large margin. The 127+P+ would be next followed by the 124+P. The 115+P+ both Federal and Ranger are luke warm and the Gold Dot 115+P+ are not worth stocking.
Other companies may sell others at different volumes than mine.
