Here is my customized K9. It started out as a stainless gun and I had it melonited (since you cannot buy the blackened stainless here in CA). I swapped the magazine base plates for the flush metal ones from kahr. I prefer standard 3 dot sights so I put in a Novak 3 dot rear instead of the vertical bar sight Kahr uses. I polished the barrel and barrel hood, and polished the feed ramp. Installed a Steve Bedair stainless guide rod, 22lbs recoil spring and the 5lbs striker spring... And it shoots even better than it looks!

Looks good. Where on the Kahr website do you find the flush magazine base plates? The cheesy plastic base plates that came stock have to go.

I think you can swap the base with one from an MK9 for the K9 mag. Not 100% sure so maybe someone else can confirm or call to order. Here is the link to the MK9 base. http://www.kahr.com/Pistol-Parts/Kahr-037M9SMagazine-Base.asp

From Kahrs page you click on products, then go to accessories, then magazines and that takes you here:

Nice, now I know which ones to order. Thanks for the link.
Is it safe to assume that the MK series base plates do not work?

I guess I didn't make myself clear. I have what you want, bases and locks and you have what I want. I'm looking to trade. I sent the link to show you how much each complete one is going to cost (17.60 ea. plus shipping)

Oh, I gotcha. I wasn't paying attention. What did you have in mind, a swap? I may be interested.

I was thinking of a straight across swap. However I thought I had 8 of these, remembered that I sold some. How many are you looking for?

I just need two for my standard mags. I do not think it will work on the extended mag.

PM sent. I have two new standard base plates. I just bought the gun a few weeks ago, brand new. One of the mags is even newer, I just got it from CTD. I also have an extended mag that came with the gun, which I do not like, I prefer the standard 7 rnd mags. I will trade you my base plates for yours, as well an extended mag for a standard mag if you are interested.

Don't buy the two separate parts at $8.80 each. Buy the "Kit" with both parts for $15. You have to know these things exist and look really hard:
http://www.kahr.com/Magazines/Kahr-Steel-Magazine-Base-Kit-9-mm-and-40-SandW.asp
Staffords had the right link for the KIT.
When I got the metal base plate kits for my P40, I got pinched while shooting so I bought some neoprene O-rings. The 1/8"x15/16" I.D. were too large and cause misfeeds with the extra pressure pulling the magazine away from the frame. I got some Danco #14 O-rings at Lowe's... 15/16" O.D. x 3/4" I.D. x 3/32"... which seem to work fine.

JG, I am not sure if you are unfamiliar with pm? Not being sarcastic, this could be your first forum for all I know, but I did send several responses. My phone# being among them. I tried calling you last night several times but I realized (quite late) that I wrote your area code down wrong. I also sent a text. I will still make the trade if we can touch base tonight. I will be happy to drop a priority package in the mail tomorrow before work.
Mods, sorry if this is not the place but I was not sure if my pm were being received.

I'm not receiving the private messages on time and I'm not
getting notification of private messages, even though the proper boxes are checked in my preferences.
I just received messages from as far back as Wednesday, last night at about 9:27 P.M. PST

Sounds normal. My email message announcements are often an hour or two late, but if I'm online when I get a PM, a notification window pops up immediately. The members that I do PMs with all respond.
Are you staying below the 50 message limit?
