Any problems in the CM9/PM9 with running +P ammo?

If I go with a CM9 over a CM40 I'd like to use Winchester PDX +P 124gr.

No, they handle +P ammo just fine.

No problem at all running +p ammo in the PM9. I do not have any experience with the CM9.

There's no problem with shooting +P ammo in a Kahr, but you don't get much more bang for the buck.. You do get more noise, recoil, muzzle flash and a thinner wallet, but it won't harm the gun.

My understanding is that Kahr 9mm are +P rated guns.

The +P/+P+ 9mm ammo was developed for 4.0" barrels.
Speer has a +P 124 9mm Short Barrel version designed for a 3.5" barrel
with a redesigned HP to open at lower velocities.
The .5" really does seem to make a difference.
At 3.0" I'm not sure how much value you're really getting with +P/+P+ either.

I actually upgraded to a 4.02" barrel in my baby Glock, from 3.46",
to get full power 1220 fps 410 E from the GDHP 124 +P.

Great, thanks for the info. Some ammo will have different burn charateristics so some will lose more/less delivered energy. Back in the early 90's my carry gun was a S&W md.19 with a 2 1/2" barrel and I was using hot .357 loads in Federal Hydra shock 158gr. (the heavier weight bullets lost less ft-lbs in the short barrel) Lots of muzzle blast but it still bested .38 sp +p in a 4" barrel by a good bit.

I have not run any +P ammo through my CM9 yet. But the CM9 is +P rated. I dont see the need, Have considered the GD short Barrel 124gr. for SD ammo, Also Remmington 124gr Golden Saber. And Hornady Custom 124gr. XTP. as SD options for my CM9, but have not tested any of these three yet. But plan to soon. Ive always liked the Hornady XTP Bullet. And have all Hornady Reloading equipment. I run the GD's in my LCP .380, and they are flawless. I also shoot a .45 cal 300gr XTP Bullet in a .50 cal Sabot from my Muzzle loader and the accuracy is better than any other round Ive fired from my .50. So I am wanting to try the Hornady Custom 9mm XTP from my CM9 for accuracy. Along with the GD's and GS rounds to decide which will be my SD carry round.
