I really want a black PM9 with night sights but also like the CM9. Buds now has the CM9 in stock but not the PM9 that I want. I have got to have one of these pistols now! would you guys wait for the PM9 to come back in stock or go ahead and order the CM? And no I can't have both. Has anyone put a full set of night sights on a CM9 yet?

Why are you stuck buying from Buds? There's many options out there like Grab A Gun, etc.
I highly recommend you get what you want the first time around, if you want the PM9 in black and night sights - get it.

I'm buying from buds police supply. I'm a firefighter and we are eligible for the LEO/military discount. Thanks for the input.

Have you asked if Buds can order it for you?

Thunder is right. Although there is absolutely nothing lacking on the CM, you will never be satisfied if you don't get the black PM.

I did put night sights on my CM9 and bought additional magazines. Like it fine but get the one you want. I love my PM40 and got the CM9 when I couldn't find a PM9 last year. I saved a little money but would get it back in resale value if I had gotten a PM9.

Kahr is putting out cm9's in large numbers due to demand because it is cheap. IMO the high production rate might contribute to the problems that are posted on this forum. Demand for the pm9 might be lower because it is expensive so Kahr could be making fewer than in the past. If it was me I would wait for the gun I really wanted. Myself I would rather have one more expensive gun that I really wanted than 2 cheap ones. Buyers remorse can set in early after a rushed decision to purchase.

buy the kahr u want, the cm is top quality, no different in the PM9 either. both made the same way, but if u want a PM9 wait and buy it. Great gun IMO. If u pay $150 more, so what, it is not like ur doing this every day..

They are not made the same way. A pinned front sight is not the same as a dovetail front sight. Engraving is cheaper on the CM9, barrel rifling, slide release... It's a cheaper made gun (hence it costs less to make), a fine shooter but lets not throw out the differences. Whether or not those differences matter to the buyer is the only thing that matters however, but let's not say they are the same gun - outside of shooting alike and the internals, it's simply not true.
Some of it may or may not matter, but a pinned front sight may or may not be a deal breaker for someone (for example), let's try and keep facts, facts. Pointing out the little differences does not have to sound like the CM9 is a POS compared to the PM9, but it is made cheaper - doesn't necessarily mean it's not as capable.

There are differences outside of cost, your needs and budget will come into play when it comes time to decide which one is best for you - in the end, they all work the same way and are similar. One will give you something the other does not.

I would get the PM over the CM, due to sights. The CM is NOT DOVETAILED and this limits your options on installing night sights. For me that alone is worth holding out. As the saying goes....."you get what you pay for".

right the cm doesn't have a dovetail on the front but the rear is... so screw on front sight from trijicon and same exact rear sight as the pm...

Both very good guns but I'm sure that if you really wanted the PM9, you'll not be sorry you waited.

well excuse me, I thought most would have kow that part about the sights etc. Internally they are the same, the sights don';t make it go bang, but u made a point that I guess I should havbe been more specific about next time.I think most would think CHEAP as poor quality, there is no poor quality in the cm series kahrs. standard rifling over polygonal has its plus's and minus, certainly never been proven accuracy is better, certainly not in a kahr anyways. Pinned front sight limits for now some night sights. Glocks seem to have endured the pinned front sight for over 25 years.
But I stand corrected.:behindsofa:
Wow!!

I just think we need to be clear on the differences as not everyone who comes here knows them. May make a difference or not but ignoring doesn't help anyone either. No jocko, sights don't make it go bang. Neither does etching or different rifling or having an all black option or factory night sights.
When someone is looking for differences to make a decision we need to point them out however, because they are different, and it might matter.

Other than having a PM9093L with MEP's......I 100% agree with that

Thanks for all of the help everyone. I ended up ordering a black pm9 without night sights (did not have the the model with night sights in stock). I also ordered some meprolight night sights as well. I may order a sight tool and try to do it my self or take it to a local gun shop and have them do it for me as I have never done this myself and don't know how difficult it might be. I would rather do it myself and have the tool to do any other pistols of mine or help some one else out.

a wise buy, some have sprayed some stuff like nutbuster or a good penetrating something and then putting it in the freezer for awhile and then vising it up between to blocks of wood and then taping out left to right. Now if u attepmt this, it will either come out easier than expected or it will not budge, then let a GOOD smnitty do it, and when I say that, upfrotn ask him if he can do it and if he will be liable if he damages ur slide etc. If he say no, then send the slide to meprolight and kthey will install them for u at a price. A sight pusher is a great tool, I finally b ought one after focking up my pM9 sights trying to get um out... The dlc PM9 is the best of the best IMO.. course I am prejudice.
