This stuff (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000GAQVYS/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1332591261&sr=8-1) has great reviews, but my question is -- will it (its adhesive) come off cleanly of Kahr's polymer frame, after being stuck on it for a couple years? Has anyone had a long-term experience with it?

TIA

I think its pretty much the same thing as talon grips and other similar custom cut grip tape type stuff. I use the talon grips on my P9, love 'em. They claim they come off clean, and while that's pretty much true...they leave a bit of adhesive to pick/peel off.

I've been meaning to order some tennis raquet non-adhesive grip tape and see what I can do with that. It would serve two purposes if it works...one, better grip...two, you can wrap it as thick as you want to 'build up' the grip to the perfect size.

If I ever get around it, I'll post some pics and review of how well it works.

I'vs used it on several of my skateboards. It works great.

I'm against grit-type tapes on carry guns. The grit gets into the holster and scratches up your slide when sliding the pistol in and out.

There are better non grit options.

I use Rem Oil to remove adhesives. Works great.

The main reason in my case is that I'm trying out Hogue's Jr on the P380 (yeah I'm back to the "normal" grips on it yet again... at least for now... http://rumsoakedfist.org/images/smilies/yabb_lipsrsealed.gif :D) and it's been slipping a bit, so I thought maybe try and put some of that griptape underneath to prevent that...

Thanks for the replies/info guys. I'm gonna try it, see how it works out...

Sorry about the short answer before. I was on my iphone and they had just called me in for my appointment.

You may want to look at Traction Grips too. I did a blog story about them. http://mousegunaddict.blogspot.com/2012/01/add-on-grips-for-pocket-pistols.html

One more thing to try would be turning the handall jr. upside down before installing. You may find that it fits better.

Thanks; no worries, appreciate your replies! Not 100% sure which side should be up by design, but basically there was not enough room for the middle finger below the guard otherwise, so I put it on in such a way that there was more space above that bump in front of it. I think that's upside-down, but not sure.

Looked at the Traction Grips -- nice idea but they kind'a seem like fancier (and more expensive) pre-cut variants of the Black Magic Griptape sort of stuff (with more surface options of course), no? Regardless though, personally I'm not feeling the need to increase traction against the hand; the original grips on P380 are cheese-gratey enough :); I'm just trying to see if I can prevent the Hogues from slipping down after a bit of usage/handling...

But those Traction Grips do look very nice; like their texture/look, like leather surface... pretty cool.

Upside down will have the word HOGUE located near the magazine base plate instead of the top of the grip.

I put a Hogue Jr on my PM9 and it fits perfectly. I was hesitant to try them on the slimer P380 and your post confirms my suspicion that they'd be too small. Thanks.
What kind of rubbery product can I use to eliminate the cheese-grater and still retain the narrowness of the grip?

There's a product called Goo Gone that will remove and adhesive easily.

A piece of bicycle inner tube will do it and is very thin.

I've heard good things about the tire tube but I really like the talon rubber grips I just put on my cm9. Made the grip feel much better, covered the cheese graters up front, looks great n was only ten bucks!

The 3M Anti-Slip Tape (http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=2159) works and it’s cheap by the yard.
I applied a small piece close to 3 years ago and it hasn’t moved so I can’t comment on the removal. I found it works best for me on just the frontstrap.

I ordered the rubber decal grips from Kahr for my PM9. They work great.
