Im sure this is covered somewhere but I cant find exactly what Im looking for. And you guys are always accomodating so deal with it :behindsofa:

I cant get an empty mag to drop from my PM9 after the slide is locked back. Kind of hard to speed reload when you have to clear one mag and THEN go for your pocket for the 2nd one. Im hoping for some advice on how to get to to not feel like its "sticking"

When i push the mag release button, it clicks, and the mag drops about 1/8 inch but i have to reach up and get ahold with the tip of my finger and pull down...if i have a full mag in, it drops to the floor without a problem but obviously, im not changing clips til the first one if empty and non-weighted. Should I polish? sand? throw it in the trash? i dont want to put oil on my mag for obvious reasons but im not an engineering major or gunsmith so id rather not go much further than sandpaper and dremel/polish. As you already know, any advice is appreciated

Others have different, more careful techniques but all I did was gently squeeze the mags with a pair of channel locks about 1/2" down from the lips with the follower held out of the way with a wire through one of the holes. No problems since

You can try to sand and polish it may be just enough to fix it may try waxing them with some car polish too...., But probably you will have to squeeze the upper part of the mag just below the feed lips in a vice (use flat jaws or protect the mag from the teeth with some cardboard or something.) You just want to squeeze it a C.H.(opp's sorry forgot you aren't an engineer that unit of measure is only for pro's LOL)...I mean just a little bit, then try it in your gun repeat as needed.

There is a mile long post about doing this, but that is the jist of it.

ahh one thing i just noticed in the picture is you have an empty casing in the mag. That seems like a good idea just to make sure it doesnt get squeezed too hard- and im really not that mechanically incompetant as I let on-- but i dont have an empty shell casing and live in the city...would a snap cap work okay? or is it really that dig a deal? if im measuring by CH's do i need it? am i being a big bit*h about this?

I don't think the case will make a whole lot of difference. I'd just squeeze a tiny bit and try it for drop. Then I would load a snap cap or a live round so you can see how parallel the feed lips are using the case as a reference.

It won't take a whole lot to make things all better. I didn't know what C H was but that's the precise amount needed, maybe 2.

I fond of the measurement bittle lit myself but I'm sometimes considered a little simple.

i used a digital caliper and a vice, going VERY slowly so as not to go any further than necessary. that's all that's needed to correct kahr's FINE magazine design.

unless you want to be able to rack the slide like you can with any other weapon too, then you need to sand the follower. as much as i love my kahrs, sometimes it seems like these things just should not have to be tinkered with on a 700+ dollar weapon.

Like what was also mentioned in the linked thread:rolleyes:...push the follower down and put a paper clip above it, thru one of the witness holes, to hold the follower out of the way during any squeezing:D

I recently purchased two new 6 round mags for my CM9 and while I did have to tinker with getting them to drop free they fed bullets by either method without doing anything to the followers.

I polished all of my PM9 mags on a buffing wheel at work. Then I applied a coat of car wax to give them a slick feel. Not only do I think they LOOK way better, they all (mix of 6 and 7 rounders) drop free when empty. If you go this route, make sure that you carefully clean any of the polish/wax residue that may have found it's way inside the mag.

I didn't have to squeeze any of mine, but wouldn't hesitate to do so if need be.

Nice guys, got my girlfriend out last night and had her do a little measuring...and it works perfectly now! Im almost rid of all my insecurities with this gun!

I used some Meguiars motorcyle all metal polish i had on the mag since i couldnt find the flitz at wal mart and it made it a little smoother and shinier but dont think it helped as much as squuezing. Thanks guys, I still so thankful I found this forum!

Any pictures of the girlfriend? Ok, I just slapped myself, forget I asked.

The suns out this morning for the first time in like 6 months, think I'll go work on my tan. Must be my beach mentality kicking in, apologize to your girlfriend for me.
