Just bought a new CW9 today. Got her all cleaned and ready to go. Gonna have to wait till Tuesday since the range is closed tomorrow. :(

It did seem a bit tough to break down but I'm guessing that's me not familiar with it and it being a bit stiff.

Got a heck of a deal. Sportsman's Warehouse had them for $329 + tax. Much less than I'd seen anywhere else.

Can't wait to try it out.

Well, I have been a CW9 owner exactly one week longer than you have. I also broke mine down and cleaned and lubed it and went through the 500 cycle hand actuated break in. I have not been able to get to the range either. It sounds like you did better on price than I did; I paid $359 + tax. I have already ordered two more magazines and a Desantis soft Tuck holster for mine.

How in the heck does Kahr sell these things so cheap? I know about the differences between the CW9 and the P9 and K9, but jeez, they're still really nice guns!

That's why the unincorporated CM9 Owners Club has :D as their symbol!

difference in cost is made up by our "stimulus package".

Well, I got it out to the range today with mixed results. I was firing at 21' using both two hand and one hand grips. I fashioned a bicycle inner tube around the grip to lessen the impact of the cheese grater. I also purchased an additional Kahr 7 round mag and used both in the session.

The Good:

This baby may be the most accurate hand gun I've ever owned. The lead goes exactly where you aim it. No flyers. Extremely pleased with the accuracy.

The trigger is fantastic. No issues getting used to it at all.

The not so good but expected:

I shot four mags each of PMC 115 gr FMJ; Fiocchi 115 gr FMJ; Federal 115 gr FMJ and WWB 115 gr FMJ.

I got one of the ones that need the break-in period. The results:

PMC: 6 Failure to eject (21%), 4 failure to lock after last round (100%)

Fiocchi: No failures to eject, fire or load, 1 Failure to lock after last round (25%)

Federal: 2 failure to eject (7%), 3 failure to lock after last round (75%)

WBB: No failure to eject, fire or load and no failure to lock after last round

The WBB was the final 4 magazines of the session. So I'm not sure if the gun was improving or just likes WBB better.

Conclusions:

Overall the session went as I expected it. I wasn't disappointed as I had expected some failures based on what I had read and heard.

All in all, this is a nice little gun. I'll make another range trip in a couple of days and compare the next set of results.

went back to the range today and put another 100 rounds downrange and the gun performed flawlessly. Shot a mix of Federal, PMC, HSM, Fiocchi and Blazer FMJ ammo. Only one minor FTE with a PMC round but other than that, no problems.

I continue to be impressed with how accurate this piece is. I've put over 200 rounds through it and feel confident that I've gone past the break-in period.

Next test will be some JHP ammo. I expect no problems. This has become my daily carry replacing a Bersa Thunder 40 cal. The Bersa is a great weapon but lugging it around all day can get a bit tedious. I'm well pleased with this little Kahr CW9.

Your still in break in period and the gun is getting better and better and your also getting better and better with it. Most of those failures I'm sure are a thing of the past after your second trip.

Welcome and say hi to Dale for me, Trigger too.

I, I, I thought you were dead.

I'm new to forum and to Kahr, also. Recent P9 owner. It has been flawless. Not even a hiccup on 4 different types of ammo including Winchester Ranger which is my defense round. Have put about 250 rds thru it. I grew up with a 1911 and having to get used to the DAO trigger but so far I'm happy. Glad to have you on forum and enjoy the new toy.

The trigger on my CW9 has been really easy to get used to. I'm chalking the first 100 or so rounds to the break-in that Kahr tells you about. Since then no problems.

Welcome to the forum you will love your CW9. I also picked up two extra magazines 7 round and 8 round. Be careful with your CW9 they have a tendency of omitting a virus, it’s call kahr-ites or something like that. I got it pritty bad after my CW9 and was not cured until I got a PM9, CW45.

What are you going to do when Wild Bill Hickock and Jingles P. Jones show up? Or The Cisco Kid and Pancho?

My bet does anyone know who Butch cavindish was and his relationship to the Lone ranger????

I do. I still have the original lone ranger 33rpm record vintage 1951. Bet I have played it a 1000 times when I was a kid and 33 rpm players were the norm. again who is butch Cavindish???

Wasn't Butch Cavendish the guy who ambushed the Rangers originally and killed all but The Lone Ranger? Thereafter he was The Lone Ranger's arch enemy.

Just back from another range visit with this new CW9 and this is one sweet shooting gun. Put another 100 rounds of mixed brand FMJ downrange and not one problem.

I have absolutely no concerns with this being my main carry gun.
