Here is a pic of my newly coated Duraheat HK Black CW40 slide. Not a very good pic but will post another when I get back in town. Have till Wed or Thurs till it is fully cured. Thinking of doing my CM40 too.

Now that puppy looks good! Did you have a third person take the pic or do you have three hands?

Did they take off the front and rear sights or just tape them off.I know when the front is removed it is garbage.I really want this done on my cw9 thats why the question.Because my local guy refuses to touch the sights.
Looks great btw.

I'm gonna go with he has 3 hands. They are very similar.
Do you mean Duro Coat? Never heard of Duro Heat? Maybe your thinking heat cause it had to be cooked to cure?
It does look like it turned out real nice.
Now wait just a dawg gone minute. I looked a little closer and darned if a 4th hand didn't turn up and it ain't holding the camera either! Now I'm way confused. Your good, really really good.

DuraHeat is made by DuraCoat. Its used for full auto barrels and parts that get hot. Good up to 650 degrees. They taped the front and removed the rear. As for the hands. A friend went up to my LGS and the owners were showing him the coating job. He thought it would be funny to send me a pic and say " see what I just bought ". I work for a railroad and am out of town a lot. He does too. So paybacks coming. I picked it up two days ago then had to go back to work before I got to check it out good. Will give it another few days then shoot and get some pics. I really like the HK Black. Not to flat of a black. Now i have to make up my mind on the CM40's fate. I might have it done too.
Sorry, looks like BBQ paint to me.

CJB. It kinda does. But it looks a little better in person (if a firearm can be in person). Looks about the same as my Kel Tec PF9's parkerized finish.

I kind of like it myself. I'm partial to stainless but my fondness for dark hasn't totally left me. I've been carrying my blued MRI 1911G for a week and dark is good too.
Is that auto knife legal in Illinois? If it's not I don't want to know, forget I asked.
We can't have them here, the officers can have them legally but not us mere office pukes. Frankly they kind of scare me the way the blade jumps out at ya, reckon I'd get used to it though.

You can own Autos for a collection. Cant carry them unless your active duty military or a LEO. I have a Gerber Spring assist Tanto I carry. Same length heavier blade. Just as fast to open. A knife to me is just a tool. Use it everyday. Never leave home without one. But I too am partial to dark. Will not do the mags since they work in both my CW and CM. If I do the CM I will still keep them as they are. Just want the slides done. NO CATCHING THE LIGHT AT NIGHT.

I like it. Of course if they made all the Kahrs black, we'd be having the slides plated or polished :)

Beautiful job, PitBull! I am in the process or purchasing a CW40 and would love to get that "look". :)
