slide damage ??

I have an MK 40 I recently purchased used and am concerned the area of the slide where the barrel passes through is cracked or broken, I'd like to email a pic of my slide to someone who has an MK 40 to look at and compare to theirs and tell me if I should be concerned, I realize this area of the slide needs to be relieved for the barrel to pivot however mine looks chipped and broken, not nicely machined like one would expect, my email is cardshooter17@yahoo.com, can anyone help ??

Hi Cardshooter,

It is hard to tell if you have a problem or not without seeing a pic. Are you speaking of the notch inside the front of the slide? or, the area of metal on the muzzle of the slide between the opening where the barrel protrudes (during cycling) and the opening where the guide rod protrudes (during cycling)? If it is the latter, Kahr will probabaly give you a replacement slide.

Why don't you just give Kahr a call? They will help you out.
