Yup, of course that's spread over 5 years. I also think it's cool they are getting Federal HST (http://le.atk.com/general/federalproducts/pistol/tacticalhst.aspx) which is what I carry.

I don't think there's anything to the rumor that they will be an enforcement body for a contrived "Emergency Action" to postpone the upcoming election. So no need to get into that stuff.

I have and maintain a rather large stockpile of ammunition of my own. Might be a good time to invest some money in an ammunition manufacturer. I always try to see the bright side. :)

yep, i see the bright side. if you do the math there, that's WAY fewer boxes of ammo per goverment LEO than is currently being and has been sold to the 100 million gun owners out there. and gun owners by and large are not shooting it at the pace of the government either (training). so in the end, there is WAY more ammo in possession of the general public than the government.

does that make me feel any better, not really, just trying the positive twist.

in the end, LEOs are people/citizens too and i do not worry about it. as many of them believe or do not believe in what the government might be doing in the same or similar ratio as the general gun owning population.

yet another bright side twist for the day :-)

I sorry. I didn't mean to indicate a police state was coming. I was referring to a shortage of ammo and components like we had a few years back

now THATs funny, no, no you didn't and look where it lead some of us. funny stuff.

yea, i see your point. ammo is already dried up here. i've made some online bulk purchases and have pretty much set that back as my rainy day ammo. so when i head to the range, i stop and pickup a few boxes for shooting. that's getting harder to do. gonna have to bulk up some range ammo as well me thinks.

I don't believe this means anything as for a shortage of anything. As I understand it they have been purchasing ammo for some time already. As I understand it there is some sort of govt mandate that they practice with their duty ammo (unlike us civilians who are free to practice with cheaper FMJ ammo and carry HST ammo). According to what I understand all of the HST ammo I have been allowed to purchase was in fact ordered by LEO and then cancelled and the dealer is then allowed to sell to whoever he can (this may in fact mean I will have a harder time aquiring HST ammo which then means I did good by aquiring a large enough amount that I will not go without between now and time I can aquire some more(hopefully)).

What is going to make my aquistion of needed/desired ammo and firearms difficult is the thought process of many who believe govt is intent on preventing civilians from such and their effort to aquire more than they can/will use in a decade... which by the way I sure hope I have aquired more than I will use in a couple of years but sure do hope to use more than I have in the next decade.

Also no worries for me since I prefer the ole flintlock anyway so if something should happen and ammo become harder to aquire than a diamond I can just make my own (willow branches and chiken poo being easy to aquire...sulpher I can do with or without).

Now for the real reason..... it's nearing the end of the budget cycle and if they don't spend it they won't get it next year.'
