View Full Version : Damaged slide!!! A 4-1-2012 Parody
I'm rapidly losing faith in Kahr... I've got three... not two, not one... but three PM series pistols, and I noticed that my 2nd PM45 has a damaged slide.
Pisses me off royally. The entire front of the slide is damaged, and since I got it used... pre-owned... pre-broken(in)... I guess I'm gonna have to shell out the hard earned cash for an entire new pistol.
Kahr must really be slipping... the QC department must be on prescription pain meds, the distributors - who really ought to check every square millimeter of every gun they push off on dealers - they must be in kahoots with the factory to pass off obvious lemons, in hopes nobody will catch any issues.
I really dont know how they let this one slip thru...
I know... call Kahr... talk to the Brit sounding bloke, promise to drink the Kool-Aid if they help me...snivel snivel.
I discovered this last evening, or rather, had it pointed out to me - even worse - since I've been touting Kahr to all my buds and associates. Now my reputation is damaged as well.
Grrrrrrr.

Sorry to hear this.
Since it is preowned, could the damage be caused by the previous owner and not Kahr?
What kind of damage is there?
Pix?

Go take a nap, CJB. Several people just got kicked outa here for talk like that. You are a knowledgeable gun expert and contribute very much here. I'd sure hate to lose you. :(
Or is this your April fools day prank?
Here, take a look...
See how the black one is different from the silver one?

I have no idea how this sort of thing ever left the factory....
This is the sort of thing that lawyer J. Noble Daggett would have a field day with

OK, I'll bite, what is the difference.

The right one looks like an aftermarket finish and the sight is higher on the new finish layer and not seated well in the dove tail. The finish on the "black" one is very rough, but I don't know which one you're calling damaged??

The one on the right looks like it's been painted with hammertone paint to give it a "peened" look.

This is so much fun, it's like the funny paper, can you find the 124 differences in these to pictures.
Lets see here, lock button, nope, delete button, nope, launch button, what the heck does that one do?

Oh yeah, it's black. I see it. That's too bad, but that's what you get for starting that other thread. :D

Yeah. Are you just catching on?
Busted.
A tongue in cheek parody... for the unending cavalcade of twits, pillocks, and buffoons that come here with their seemingly endless tales of n'er do well experiences, a salute to you, on your day.

Believe me, I thought you were joking, but I "tried" to find differences... there are, but I didn't see any "damage", and I DID say "black" because it looks green to me!
I've resisted using AFD to post something... other than my favorite Dilbert cartoons.
So , really, what kind of finish and color are on the right pistol??

oh man....not funny
Well part of it all... was to see how many could be actually suck... er... I mean "drawn" into responding.
I see the great Super Moderator, or his staff of digital minions, has given a slightly new title to this thread. Heheheheh I expected it!~
Ya know, sometimes, the endless... seemingly baseless, absolutely nutty Kahr bashing that goes on here by some, really... it required this thread today.
After all - it is their day.

The finish is my ever loving favorite GunKote (K-Kote) series 2400 which wears like cast iron shortpants under yer breeks. Good stuff it is. And lint aside, I've discovered the application of 2300 white, then re-curing, reestablishes the white dots with little fanfare.

Kahr rocks.....I had another combat class with my Kahr and gotta say, I thought that gun was broken in, but it keeps getting better after approx 2K rounds. I ran another 300+ rnds through it and NOT ONE hiccup. It has to run wet though. I love this little gun. Easy to carry, but it does beat me up.

Oh man, You know being new here I was looking at the picture for some sort of fracture or something. Hell I just got back from Walgreens with a magnifying glass.

how wet is wet ??? I don't consider my PM 9 or K9 wet, as I ostly use TW25 greaseon all moving parts, Maybe a drop of oil in the freont trigger area but that is it. Ihyave shoot 300 rounds at one sititng in ages. did enough of that early on but now a 100 at range distance is plenty for me. I know my PM9 works great and I am gonna work in my accuracy6 with my K9 now. I do shoot it much better than my PM9 and it has that NYPD triger thqat so many thing is a bad thing. Might be me but I just don't think kahrs once they get past that 200+ round count need alot of "wet". I am just not a "\oilj" fan when it comes to pocket carry either.

This thread has a whole "suicide by mod" feel to it. I get the April Fool's thing by why poke sticks at our fearless leader?

I waited till you were busted and the joke was over. Then I changed the title so some new guy 3 years from now wouldn't use this thread as fuel to use as bashing material.
Being around all the time we know what's going on but a new guy just looking around seeing that might decide to buy one of them inferiors and we don't want to do that to anybody do we?

Well, I guessed it might be an April Fool's trick in post 2, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express awhile back! :D

Really? By who?
As the Day of Fools draws to a close (by my time zone), I wish them all good riddance, quick abdication, and bothersome retreat.
For the rest here, cheers, good will, and minor exultation for putting up with my verbal tripe.
Ya know... I thought SOMEONE would have picked up on the lawyer Daggett reference. Oh well.

You should call the law firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe. They'll take care of you.
