So, I used to have a PM9 and sold it. Now, I'm missing the little guy even though I wasn't wild about the long trigger. With that in mind, I've been looking for a replacement. Yesterday, I handled a Sig P290, Ruger LC9, Taurus PT709 Slim, Kahr CM9, and Keltec PF9. The Sig grip was too short to be comfortable...just didn't feel right. The Ruger trigger was even longer than the PM9 and it was kind of funky. I don't know how to really describe it, but I didn't like it. The gun felt great in the hand though. The Taurus also felt really good in the hand, but still had the long trigger. The Keltec was a good size, but didn't feel as refined as the other guns. So, once again, I've come to the conclusion that Kahr makes the best small 9mm pistols. Is $375 a good price for the CM9?

Yes that's a good price.
Lowest I've seen is, off and on, $350 at Cheaper Than Dirt.
$375 is a good every day price from a reputable source.
I've started entering my Credit Card number on several occasions.
My tuned 11.1 oz S&W 342 ti 38 +P is the only thing that's stopping me.

CTD has gone up to $377. I keep forgetting that I've got a S&W model 37. She shoots good, but looks a little rough. I should send her off to have her spiffed up and get a trigger job.

Yup, Yup, that's what I did.
Trigger job and XS Big Dot front sight and Woo Woo!
Still one of the very best pocket pistols IMHO.
Plus Speer GDHP Short Barrel 135 gr 38 +P pass
all the FBI protocol tests out of a 2" barrel.
Glass, steel, whatever.
They are bonded, retain weight and have a monster HP!
Something like .58 expanded.
Shoots through jacket pockets too!

That's what she's loaded with. :D
Jocko, I hadn't thought of checking with S&W, but that's a good idea.
I need to buy an IWB holster for the 37 also.

Check out this laid back tuckable AIWB holster that James Dean is making for me.

Melissa,
Just so happens I handled those same guns except the taurus at the Gun show yesterday. I agree with your conclusion. Every time I seriously consider selling my CM9 I just can't do it.
I think $375 is a good price for a CM9, especially if there's no shipping or transfer fee.
BTW, Here are some of the Kahr prices I saw:
CM9-399
PM9-489
CW9-339!!! (Dark Sun Surplus, Richmond, VA)!!!
CW45-389
P380-589 (stainless base model)
CW40-425

Rohrbaugh R9...
IIRC, those Rohrbaughs are pretty damned pricey, compared to most of the competition. :(

Well, I came up with the concept for this holster and James is doing a custom design. The reverse cant, low ride and rounded bottom edge are all my ideas, and I requested the tuckable clip. Here is a post where I explain the benefits of the reverse cant: http://kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=144770&postcount=13
I'll post a review on it after I get it and have worn it with my gun, which is still at the gunsmith's. If everything is thumbs up, you can ask James to make you one, too.

I jumped the gun and ordered a Desantis Flex Tuck. It kind of looks like yours.

Is the cant adjustable? Looks like it will work at about 2:00-2:30. Mine is designed to ride at about 11:00 (1:00 for you), and so the clip in front wouldn't work because I have a triple thickness of belt and a belt keeper where it would attach.
Let us know how you like it.

Here's what the Desantis we site says about it.
"The Flex-Tuk™ tuck-able IWB for the S&W J frame 2” can be worn comfortably as a appendix carry or a cross draw and everything in-between. Its specially formed mouth allows effortless re-holstering. It’s fitted with our polymer “C” clip for easy adjustment. Our highly concealable J clip and hex key are also supplied to aid in re-holstering."
If I'm reading that correctly, I can turn the holster around to be left handed, mount the "c" or "j" clip, and wear it crossdraw if I wanted to.

I'm thinking either of those might be a good fit for my real life wife and her 638 which ashamedly we have not been able to shoot yet, hopefully soon.
Easy on, easy off.
I'll anxiously await your thoughts on that one.
She was born cursed with left hand dominance, I try not to dwell on it but do need to remember than if she has me order one. So foreign to me.

I recently discovered the advantages of cross draw and really prefer it.
Particularly for access while driving.
My J-frames are some of my most comfortable belt carry guns that way.
The S&W 640-1 is so comfortable carry it just hanging out at the house.

I don't think you can turn it around backwards, but it looks like the clip is tuckable and cant adjustable. You'll probably need to leave it at zero cant for AIWB and crossdraw, with crossdraw being just moving the holster around to the front left side. Let us know how it works when you get it.

I have to get left handed holsters ,or ambidextrous, to go cross draw.

What are you calling crossdraw, then? Im am not talking about weak hand draw. I am talking about reaching across your body with your strong hand and drawing your gun from a holster that matches your shooting hand. Only definition of crossdraw that I know of. The holster usually has to have zero or negative cant to accommodate an easy draw from that location.

I'm not sure what you mean by negative/positive cant?
Which is which?
And "from a holster that matches your shooting hand"???
But yes, strong hand draw, crossing the body.
I do like the gun canted with the grip downward and the barrel upward from vertical.

UPDATE:
Ops....
I just figured it out LOL!
I like to use belt holsters and flip them so I can use them outside the waist band but inside the belt.
Has nothing to do with cross draw.
Just the crazy way I prefer to belt carry guns.
Not the way most holsters are designed for.
So I improvise.
It's just Barth being Barth.

I agree with the PM9/CM9 being the best small 9mm. I dislike most of them. The CM/PM9 is both smaller, more comfortable, and has less recoil than the others, generally speaking. How they do all of those? It blows my mind! :) I don't like the Rohrbaugh and $1000+ is too much to spend on a gun I don't like. LOL

nhever owning a Rohrbaur, I think I would like to have one but it is not a range gun. It wopn't take the rounds a kahr will. It is quality made buyt so so ammo specific to that it ain't funny. I think Rohrbaugh even tells u what ammo to use and I think it is Winchester band something. It is a gun u shoot seldom and carry often, other than that, it is what it is. I buy um I shoot um so more than likely me and Rohrbaugh would not get along very long.I think they recommend also 200 rounds and get the recoil springs outta there. If one goes inbto a buy of a rohrbaugh and knows all the quirks then he has no complaiunts that are valid. AGAIN LIKE A KAHR DO UR HOMEWORK in advance , I have saqid this many times on this forum. IMO a kahr is not a good starter gun for a woman, a veteran like we have a few on this forum isnot what I am talking about either We ofte4n push our desires onto a wife or girlfirned without ny input from them and then we hear complaints about kAHR, WHEN againb homework was just never done. IMNO show me a harder gun to hand rack than a kahr and more than likely it is another kahr..

Word on the street has it that S&W will be releasing a small 9mm similar to the LC9, PF9, PM9/CM9. They are to make the official announcement April 12th. It might be worth while to delay your purchase until you can have a look at this one.
