I thought there might be someone close to you. I'm a little more than a couple of hours away.

Oh, I thought you had more posts in this thread than you do now. :p Do you mean the people who used to be here and got booted during the recent crackdown? Have you noticed how pleasant the forum climate has gotten? I'm glad they did it! :bump2:

Charlotte, checking in. Where do you shoot? I typically got to Elite in Monroe on Sundays.

There's a place around open on sundays? Ill have to check them out. I usually go to pappy's (in edgemore) on saturdays. If ur near monroe tho, it might be a good lil drive for ya. Shoot me a pm on where ur actually at n maybe we can get up sometime.

Yup, Elite Training Academy. They are actually only open to the public Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the rest of the week they do CCW, basic firearms etc...
Nice people, never a wait, lanes are decent and they are probably the least expensive place in the Charlotte area to shoot. There is another place (open on Sunday) called Firepower in Matthews that also has a gun shop with a good selection. However the staff is rude and you can end up waiting an hour or more.
I have been crazy busy with work and a few classes I have been taking but my schedule will open up in the next few weeks. So anytime you want to go shooting, let me know. This coming Sunday is out but I will go the following Sunday.

I grew up in Monroe but left there a little over 10 years ago. I was a member of Charlotte Rifle and Pistol club which had an outdoor range near Waxhaw and an indoor range on Griffin Rd. in Charlotte. The only public range was located off Hwy 74 (Roosevelt/Independence Blvd)in Industrial Ventures Park in Monroe. The Owner, Dennis McCollum, died a good number of years ago. I suspect that this might be Elite range that you are referring to. Good to know that shooting is alive and well in that area and that there are places to shoot if and when I return to visit there again.
