I did some stippling on my CW9 today. It made a great improvement on the grip. I just did it on the contact areas, I didn't want go crazy. What do you think?

Yep I cut it down a few months ago. So I wanted to do something to give it a finish look.

Thank You Sir.

You should take compliments from Jocko with a grain of salt. He thinks fine decorating involves horseheads.

That is a real nice, neat job! Clean looking both the chop and stippling.

That looks real classy, Skater! Did it also tame the cheese graters? What did you use to stipple it with?

I used a Weller 15 piece woodburning kit with the sharpest point it had (lower right corner). I purchased the kit at Sears for $16. The front and back strap (cheese graters) I used some fine sandpaper after the stippling and removed all the sharp edges. Lot better then they were before. I was thinking about removing them but did want to push my luck.

Wow! I like that . . . a lot! The nicely rounded remains of the original cheese graters are a nice touch. Bravo!

Naw, it's fine what you did with the cheese graters. If you removed them, the grip would be narrower front to back and the trigger reach would be diminished. The way they are, they enhance grip and comfort.

Great looking gun. I am wondering why you would cut down a CW9 when you could get a PM9 or CM9 which to me looks like a cut down CW9 ?????

I had a PM9, great gun but I shoot this one so much better because the recoil feels less and the sight radius. Plus the CW has the longer recoil spring which makes it easier to rack.

By cutting down the CW9 and making a Covert9 you get the longer slide of the CW9 with the shorter grip frame of the CM/PM. It makes the gun easier to conceal than the normal CW and yet easier to rack the slide and longer sight radius than a normal CM/PM. I like the idea myself tho I think I would take a TP9 and cut it down to the CW9 grip size. Well except that I prefer steel and the grip frame on a steel Kahr aint conducive to that kind of modification.

Nice work! I also like the idea of the chop on the CW9... that could be a new product for Kahr. CW9S (short grip length) just a thought. ;)

Took it to the range today, it felt very good in my hand. There were a few spots I had to sand down with some fine sandpaper. One guy at the range wanted me to do the same thing (chop and stipple) to his CW40 after seeing and shooting my gun.

u outta do it and post anothe rphoto and then post ur prices on this forum. U work IMO is as good as I have ever seen and u might make a few extra bucks from it and make a kahr member very happy to: Just sayin.

Now if u can come up with a way to extend my PM9 grip to an 8 round flush fit, Imight be also interested: Just sayin.

It's easy to do your own gun but someone elses gun is to much pressure. What if you screw it up.

wen u hang a shingle outside ur door, u assume some responsibility. It goes with the territory. It was a suggestion, only u would know if ur ready to do other owners guns. IMO u certainly look like u are. If I had a cw or P9, I would trust u with mine in a heartbeat. Just sayin. Not trying to inflate ur head either... Hell I let Bawanna redue my Herretts grips for my J frame and when I got um back theese grips now fit a J frame K frame and the N frame. the man is just that good.

I like that a lot! Very subtle and evenly applied. Too many stippling jobs I have seen were excessively rough, but that one looks very easy on the hands. Nice work!

I can honestly say that, that is the first stipple job I like as it seems like most stipple jobs are way overdone. You did a great job on the grip chop and knew when to stop on the stippling. Looks great.

PM9 by most peoples standards is way over done and I have stated, that when u do a stipple job suchg as I did u best die witht hegun for the value goes down down down, but for me irt is what I wanted,so I can live with it, This fellas work to me certainly woulldnot harm resale value at all.

Grip stippling is a personal thing , certainly not for everyone either be it mild or wild. Ifdone right though it will change the feel of the gun.
