Hello all, new member from the state of Washington. Anyways I have had my cw9 for about 5 months now, love this weapon and its my primary edc. My question is...is Kahr shipping the 8 rd 9mm mag with grip extension with a new style extension? I have ordered 3 now. One from midway that I returned because I thought it was incorrect order and now 2 just came in from CTD. The model number is k920G. Most stock pictures over the internet show the mag with the extension that isnt flush across but has a cut out design. http://www.kahr.com/Magazines/Kahr-8-Round-9mm-Magazine-with-Grip-Extension-K920G.asp The ones I keep getting have the extension that looks like the one on the 45 mags like this http://www.kahr.com/Magazines/Kahr-7-Round-45-ACP-W-Grip-Extension-K725G.asp Although the mags werent purchased from kahr they are in the original packaging and correctly marked 8 Round 9mm Magazine with Grip Extension "K920G". If they switched the design thats fine but Im just wondering if it is normal to have to slam the mag in the frame for it to seat. With the included mag i do not have to slam it just press it in. Anyone have any info on this matter? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I love the way my kahr shoots and carries..but the magazines could use some work or a redesign.

I think they did make a end cap change to a solid cap instead of that butt ugly cut out one. I wouyld think after a few mag inserts thaqt it will work itself in OK. I don't recommend slamming a magazine but you ahve a metal mag catch, so ur not gonna hurt anything. If one works great as u stated, then more than likely it is the end cap that is hindering it a tad. I would do nothing but if u can livewitht aht, take that end cap off and just sand it down a tac whereit is making contact witht he bototm of the mag well. I would suggest sading the end caps over doing anything with the frame magwell. end caps are replaceable if u ruin it.

I would think with a good tight fitting mags like ur describing that you won't have any worrys about mag rattles etc..

I feel the same way. I am working on a new magazine baseplate design for my CW9... It will be CNC machined aluminum. The original idea was just for me, but some others have expressed interest too, so I may sell some if they come out good (which will help with the material and tooling cost). I just finished the design for the low profile K820 and ordered material and tooling yesterday (ouch! more than I wanted to spend) I hope to design one for the K920G next.

As for slamming the K920G magazine in... I have the same issue :(, but not for long! :)

I will definitely post photos once I have something I can be proud of.

I am still a noobie here, but I know there have been many discussions in the past about this topic. This is kind of where I started... http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?p=145447
