I am a happy camper. Shot my new CM9 for the first time today after doing a thorough cleaning, lubricating and racking (500 times) yesterday. The little guy ate up 200 rounds of 124 grain American Eagle and then 50 rounds of 147 grain Federal Hydra Shok without any problems whatsoever. I have always used the 147 grain Hydra Shok in my Glock 17 and 19 and see no reason not to use it in my Kahr. This little gun will be perfect for summer carry.

wellI not owning one of those "other" models was told that by a fellow cm9 guy. He tired to show me the hand shake but it looked like one of those ghetto guys on "something" Just sayin.

Welcome to KahrTalk.

I'm happy that you're happy. Really, it is great that your CM9 performed without issue right out of the box without a 200 round break-in.

ROB S,

My wife and I just got a pair of CM9's. I've got 200 rnds. thru mine and had 2 FTF's on the 2nd or 3rd's in the mag.. The wife just got to start her break-in yesterday. I went through the suggested cleaning, but we still had a few issues with her CM. The side was very hard to run, with a loaded mag inserted it was difficult to get the slide to release and go to battery ( while pulling back on slide ), and 5 to 6 times once the slide did release the round hung-up on the feed ramp. To say the least we were beginning to get concerned!! THEN - everything changed! While we only ran a little over 100 rnds. thru it, the last 5 or 6 mags ran thru flawlessly, and all of the forementioned isuues resolved themselves. While our break-in's are far from finished we're very happy with our CM's.
Oh,and once she got more familar with her pistol she promptly outshot me. We were shooting at 10 yrds. at "pop" cans and she went 6 for 6 on one run. She may not make the pro circiut but not bad!!!! memtb

My break-in period was more like your wife's than yours. It's running flawlessly now.

Has your wife shot pistols a lot? Did she work her way up to the 9, or just dive right in?

Deano,

My wife is an experianced shooter, tho I must confess her first experiance with a handgun was with my S&W 629 (44 mag ) with light loads. Her first CCW was a Springfield XD .40. However it's not always a practical CC firearm, hense the CM9
She doesn't shoot handguns alot however ( just enough to be fairly proficient. She's been a hunter since around 1972 or so, and her only big game rifle since 1992 has been her Win. Model 70,SS,Syn stock,.338 Win Mag. This past season she took a nice 6x6 elk at 300 yrds.,and a small black bear at 378 yrds. (both measured, elk post shot, bear pre-shot). I wouldn't want to be her target at anything under 500 yrds. memtb

My wife is just the opposite. Just shot a gun for the first time last weekend. I'm not sure which is more dangerous, a dead eye wife, or one with no experience handling guns. I suspect though that if our wives are shooting at us, you're in more danger than me.
