I don't know whether this is true or not but I thought you would like to read this.

FYI: I have only been asked the three questions at the VA, but never asked about the guns. I am passing this along. These are comments from two other people. I have been asked if we keep guns in the house.

The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions.

I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask.

Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded.

I, of course, answered yes to both questions.

Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed.

I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor, and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack.

The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else.

Just passing this along for your information:

I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.

One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?

My answer was ‘None of your damn business!’

So it is out there. It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (As they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!

Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners.

Thanks from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer:

I had a doctor’s appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along.

While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions:
1. Did I feel stressed?
2. Did I feel threatened?
3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

Looks like they are going after the vets first.

Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have?

Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners as potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, you"ve been warned!

If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

We should not forget that the spark which ignited the American Revolution was caused by the British attempt to confiscate the firearms of the colonists. - Patrick Henry

Like I said take this for what it's worth. This I can say actually happened to me a couple months back though on a recent trip to the hospital. They did ask me if
1. Did I feel stressed?
2. Did I feel threatened?
3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?
They never asked about guns nor would I tell them anything if they did. Just saying becareful about who knows what and how you answer certain questions that might be asked of you when you least expect it.

When I go to the dentist... often... and when I go to the doctors, I CCW. I carry a closing folder that I put my phone, knife, magazine/holder, and gun in when I figure I'm going to have to disrobe.

Paranoid? No, but I don't want to be sitting there like a sheeple if a disgruntled employee or patient comes in and goes "postal". Guns have never come up in those visits.

I did just get an "Official U.S. Census Questionnaire" after a "warning letter" and a post card after receiving it, all saying that I was required by law to fill out the questionnaire and return it. I haven't opened it, yet, and really am apprehensive about the number of questions that could be on it and the nature of the questions. I would bet that there are some about weapons in the house, but I don't know, yet. I'll post when I get around to it. I have a lot to do getting ready for the re-roofing and the house being painted... AND I still have to do my taxes!

I'm retired Air Force and I have %95 of my health care done at the VA in Ann Arbor, MI (even though the VA in Detroit is closer). I have never been asked about guns but they have asked many questions related to post traumatic stress syndrome. However, I do appreciate the warning.
PS. They could also take your CPL by prescribing medication that could disqualify you!!

Same here and we waited, got the nasty gram, and then filled it in using - ahem - some creative license. But, as I recall, nothing about guns.
