I found a great deal on a new CW45 at a local gun shop ($377 out the door)
I've heard of the early mag drop issues, but being this is a newer production CW45... (Feb 2012), I'll venture to say that has been corrected.
I've had a Glock 36 and a Taurus PT145....just didn't fill the niche I expected them to. The CW45 seems like it would fit the bill looking at the dimensions.
Before I jump on it, I'd like some input from owners....current or former...in regards to reliability after the break-in period and any issues that are known.
Thanks a lot.....Happy Shooting:33:

i have one, very easy to conceal, easy to clean, easy shooter, just like the other kahrs, smooth long trigger pull. some complain about the sights but they are easy to see and pick up the target. i have the cm9 and cw45,except for size they are twins in every way, easy to switch between the two. good luck with your choice

That's a great deal!
There is no mag drop issue. On most Kahrs, the mag doesn't drop freely out of the gun when released, by design. There are a couple of easy ways to fix yours to drop free if you want them to.

I own a CW45 and it is my EDC. So far it has been a great pistol. I have approx 450 round through it and the only issue I have had is that mine does not like the Hornady 230 grain Custom Ammo. It has eaten everything else without fail. All I have done is added the traction grips.
Here's a pic...

uh, if you want to part with that g36, let me know. Also, My mags didn't drop super easily when I got my CM9. They dropped, but not super slick-like. I took a look in there and there was some little plastic flashing. 20 seconds with an xacto knife later, they fall right out.

I have read early reports of the magazine dropping from the pistol when it is fired.....maybe I'm wrong....or maybe the shooters who posted that issue inadvertently pressed the mag release:)

The G36 has been gone for over a year now....and thanks for the tip.

I have one, and it is the pistol most often found in my belt holster even if it is about my cheapest gun. The lightness and thinness make it the easiest to carry of my eleven 45's. It doesn't hurt that it's been 100% either, but so have my other Kahrs.
The picture was taken just before my shoulder surgery, but even if I wasn't doing my part, the CW was. BTW that was 12 rounds, not 18.

I had some issues (to include the above mentioned "early mag drops") with my CW45 early on in it's time with me, but was able to work past them without sending it back. Now, it's reliable (with beaucoup trouble free rounds down the pipe) and accurate (it's always been accurate). Safe to say, it's my favorite Kahr (also have a CW9 and until recently, a K9) and one of my favorites of any pistol in .45ACP.
A word about the mag drops: Kahr was quick to send me a machined mag latch and I've had no recurrence of the unintended drops since (http://kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=15667&postcount=2).
FWIW, I seen very little (if any) mention of mag drops with the CW45 in the past 6-12 months.

I have an older P45, and the wife carries a CW45, no issues from either one. Snatch that deal up, prep it and enjoy.

My CW45 had to go back to the factory due to the trigger not resetting. I got it back in exactly 7 days and works very well as long as I use the 6 round mags. For some reason it won't feed from the 7 round mags. Kahr wants me to send the gun and mags in again so they can investigate. I also had some problems with +P ammo not feeding reliably but a new recoil spring fixed that. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I will probably send it back to Kahr with the 7 round mags to see what they can figure out. I've tried all Kahr's suggestions, but the 7 round mags just don't want to feed consistantly.

I've had two CW45's [one was traded on a PM45, later stolen], but I've never tried a seven round mag. Six is enough for me, and the grip is long enough already.

No issues once I tightened the slide lock spring screw. EDC it, forget that it is there wearing at 4 IWB. Grab that deal!

I don't have a lot of info as my cw45 is quite new to me. I have put 30 rounds of really old Remington UMC and one new box of federal in the maroon box for a total of 80. Not one issue. I was debating hard between the cw and th glock30. I'm confident I made the right choice, and I do love glocks. The cw shoots extremely nice. It's hard to believe its .45 when you're shooting. IMO the recoil is light. The only flaw I have noticed was that the sides of my barrel have some small dents on them. The outside. I contacted Kahr and they said it shouldn't affect performance but they will replace the barrel if it ever does. Like I said though it shoots great. Enjoy yours. I love mine so far.

I'm planning on buying a CW45 soon my dealer tells me $400.00 is his cost I think that's a little high I'm going to see if he will get me a 7round mag to go with it at that price. I want to know if this is a good deal?

I've seen them on grabagun for $350. They had a few 'blemished' ones for $325, almost jumped on it but I just ordered a CM9. Maybe next time... :)

Bogey sent from my iPhone using TapatalkNot a great deal. My LGS has it for 399. Buy it online for 350, add 25 for FFL fee, and wait for a week or so vs. just pay the premium and walk out the door with it. To me it's worth the extra 25 just to buy it and support the local economy a little. YMMV
