Hello I am new to this forum and a new Kahr owner. Purchased a new CM9 and thanks to this forum I did the prep as recommended, cleaned and racked the slide about 200 times and cleaned again. Went to the range today and put 150 rounds of fmj of various types thru it. Had 2 FTF both were with Winchester white box. Hope to put more rounds thru it soon. Loved it !
Thanks to all members on here for all of the knowledge and experience you share with everyone.

beron,
Congrat's on your purchase. My wife and I just bought a pair of them, and were pretty pleased, so far. We both saw some issues at the start, but after some rounds they got better. I've only 200 rnds. and she 100 rnds. thru the little guns.We want/need to shoot them more but it's spring in Wyo. and just way to many projects to do!! Maybe some more shooting this week. Homework really should be no excuse as we have (2) shooting backstops at the house as well as a large backstop on our 300 yrd. rifle range, if we wanted to engage in some shooting that involved some tactical type work.I hope that you continue to be pleased with your CM, and only need it for fun and not "purpose"!!!! memtb

Hey beron, I'm new to the site as well and am waiting to receive my CM9 sometime this week. I'll definitely follow the prep instructions found on the blog. Can't wait!

Welcome, beron. I hope that you find your CM9 to be reliable as you continue to shoot it.
I got my CM9 a few weeks ago and ran 250 rounds through it, from range ammo to self-defense rounds in various weights, and had one small FTF. Other than that, it's proved to be reliable.

Another range report. Fired about 200 rounds various ammo again and had about 8 failures. 6 were nose dives with some older FMJ's I picked up at a show a while back and 2 were jams with Tulammo, the 2 jams just froze half way up the feed ramp. Federal FMJ's and Speer Gold Dot's ran perfect. I used the 6,7,and 8 round mags and all three had issues. You think the problem is with the mags or does it need more rounds fired through it?

Personally I think you need to put better rounds through it. I never use steel or aluminum cased ammo in any of my pistols, and I have found that the WWB are slightly longer than other factory loads. This has cause a problem in some of my small guns in the past, especially Keltec's. Also with a new, tight pistol you might want to stick with hotter rounds until it loosens up some. As for the mags, I gave away my 7 round without ever using it, and only use the 6 rounders in my PM9.

I'm a new shooter this year. Got a Glock 27 and found that if I relaxed my grip wile trying to be calm and still, I'd have problems with it. Now 300 rounds later I haven't had any problems with it.
I just got my CM9 to celebrate my carry permit, and with only 100 rds haven't had a problem except once I lifted the slide catch and it stuck open. Revising my grip to prevent that also improved the groupings. If you firm up your grip and still have problems then it might need to go back for check ups. The slide spring on mine has softened a touch with a hundred through it but it still racks way harder than the Glock 27. Must be because the slide weighs less so needs more spring resistance. I have taken a white knife sharpening rod to tame the harsh edges and that has helped. I also assembled it without the spring and shaken the slide hundreds of times and the roughness is almost all gone now. None of these were needed with the Glock so I'm hopeful Kahr can do a bit better for what they charge. If Glock made single stack sub compacts I would have passed on the kahr. But it is such a fine gun anyway, treating it special in the beginning is worthwhile. I'm pleased with both.
Keep the updates coming. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the responses everyone ! The Tul ammo is nasty but my Browning Hi Power chews up anything. I did follow the prep and lube section so hopefully it just need more quality rounds fired thru it. Thanks again for great info on here.

If I buy a pistol like the the CM9, I'm going to feed it with at least "good" ammo, especially when breaking in. I used the WWB 115gr. FMJ for the first 200+ rounds, not a problem noted. Followed with Rem 115gr. JHP, again no problem, and both were fed through the 6 and 8 round mag (I have a 7rd. mag on the way also). Most malfunctions noted here I see are related to ammo or mag. it seems. Take care and be safe.

probalby would have never madeit off the launchig pad had they had tul designers. I am sure in some gus it works ok but does that mean if it doesn't work in my kahr that my kahr is bad??? That is ur call to make. I tried it in my K9 this past month and it was not impressive but for the price I paid of it, I accepted it but it is what it is to. I immediately went back to my wwb box and have had zero issues, so FOR MY K9 it is junk ammo and I won't buy it again. I really should have known better to .

Another range report. Fired 150 more rounds today and had 2 nose dives and 1 lockup. The 2 nose dives and the lockup were with Winchester White Box and both with the 7 round mag. Federal FMJ's, Gold Dot's and PDX's ran perfect. Thats about 500 rounds so far thru it so its gettin better. I sanded the right side of all three mag followers so they dont catch on the release by the way.
