So I have decided to not sell my PM9 and instead I wanted to like it even more so I took it in to my local gunsmith. I asked him to do a high mirror polish on the barrel, barrel hood, slide stop, safety, and trigger. Oh boy! I can't wait to get that baby back! Oh and also to polish up both of my six round mags! I will show pics when I get her back for you guys! :D

I'm glad to hear it and look forward to your pics.

So why were you considering selling the PM9 in the first place?

Needed the money. I wanted to get a S&W 642 airweight revolver to carry instead. Those only cost $350 bucks and than I would have my EDC weapon and an extra $250 for some bills! But everyone wants to low ball you for your gun so I said I have a good investment here and I am not just gonna just give it away.

Yeah, unless you can do a private sale or trade you can take a beating. Hope everything works out with your PM9 and you never regret your decision to keep the PM9.

So instead of paying bills your keeping your PM9 AND spending the extra money to have it polished? That sounds like a really stu.........

.....pendous idea! :D Glad to hear your keeping it. I bet it's going to look pretty sweet all shiny!

awsome. but you coulda saved the money and did it yourself with a dremel felt wheels and some mothers mag wheel polish. i know to some its scary to try, but its dead nuts simple. try it yourself on the next one. even glock barrels polish up to a mirror polish with this method....

I polished my mk40 all by hand and flitz. Total cost was about $15. My time is worth nothing so it was real cheap to do. The barrel and hood are real easy. The rest of the gun was harder especially the slide but the whole gun came out real uniform. I left the top of the slide and the machined grooves up the way it came. One good thing if it gets a scratch I can polish it right out.

I have seen your CM9 before. I really like pictures of the PM with just the essentials polished instead of the whole entire slide. Im not knocking yours at all its just that opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one pretty much! :D

A friend of mine and I were talking about doing it myself but I wasnt sure about taking the trigger off and the thumb safety out to do it. I heard of using Flitz and a dremel and doing the barrel and slide stop though.

actuall I seeno nee dto take the trigger itself out of the gun. If ur just wanting to polish the trigger for looks it can be done on the gun with some flitz and fine 600 grip paper. IMO taking the trigger off serve no real purpose as far as making it smoother. The kahr trigger really doesnt work like most trigger do. Not sure about the thumb safety as I have never had one of the models with the safety in my hands

The first question I would ask any smitty is "have u ever had a kahr totally down , every part out of the gun". That would have to be a yes in order for me to leave it with them. Many smitty's have not workied on kahrs. Next question I would ask, is "if u damage my gun will u be responsible for making it whole agan""" Yes would be the only answer I would accept. I put Sitty's in the same category as I do alot of doctors. Some are good some are piss poor. a certificate on the wall means nadda to me..

I believe $75 -$100 for Cerakote. I've never had it done so I'm not 100% sure on price, just going by what I've seen.

Jeepster! Your OD Green fetish must have something to do with your Jeep. Am I on the right track? HAHA! But is that Cerakote the way to go on a stainless gun? Is it better than the other black coatings that are out there? Can you see smuges and scratches on the Cerakote like you can with other black coatings?

It is Duracoat not Ceracote, if done right in the beginning it lasts a long time. None of my guns have shown any problems yet. Yes I do shoot them a lot. Part of the process is baking on the finish.

I'll second that. I can't believe you did that to a Smith 41, it looks great but I still can't believe you did it.

You border line have a fetish, a nice fetish but a fetish none the less.

One needs to listen to "self". If "self" is pleased, nothing else really matters.
